My site was "suspended" by Google. Please help me figure out why.

I have a site where I market physical products which I manufacture.
We sell all natural creams for relief of muscle pains.
My site recently went live. I tried to set up an Adwords campaign today and it told me that my site is "suspended" by Google because it doesn't follow Google's policies. I'm sure the problem is my content but not sure why they suspended it. I don't sell pharmaceuticals. There is nothing medical about my products. They are based on Dead Sea minerals and essential oils.

Does anyone here have any idea what I have to change? Google was not specific at all.

Please help me. I'm sitting on a huge amount of products that I need to start selling.

(My site is terracureproducts.com).

Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
I have checked the website and it seems fine but while searching the domain in the Google, it suggest another similiar URL "http://terracareproducts.com/" which means your domain is not properly indexed in Google. To sort this problem you require to log in Google Console and submit the website again. Again if you face same problem, please let me know.

My bet is you're wrong and the US FDA requires you to have your products tested before selling in the US. Even If you're not selling in the US, Google is in the US, so they're responsible for what they advertise (Adwords).

Ok, so listen to this. I just got an email from Google saying that
"Great news! We've re-reviewed your site and determined that the following site complies with our Advertising Policies".
Great news, right? Yeah. Except that they put in the wrong customer number. So, I'm trying to figure it all out. I had a different adwords accounts under my own email when I did an adwords course. Today I opened up a NEW adwords account with my business email. But apparently, Google put the new biz email under my original account so now it's a bit of a mess. I have to figure out how to sort it all out with Google. At least my site is ok, right?

You can have two adwords account. But they must be used to serve ads to two different businesses. The accounts should be created with different credit cards/billing details. If you created a new account that looked similar to the original then Google may assume that you should only have one account.
Hopefully your 'Google consultant' will get that sorted but I suspect you may need contact them yourself to approve any changes to your account. - Good luck

        Hello Dena,

Yes this great news that you know the reason, But then also you have to index your site first and give some time for SEO then you can start the Adwords/Paid campaign.

That is good for your business and for you.

  • From your last message, sounds like that's the problem. You should never open new accounts once you have one. That just make you look suspicious. Call them, explain the situation and that you will use only one account (you or they can close one of them).

Now as for your site, the nature of it may also be an issue. Yukon is right, you generally can't sell some medicinal products without some sort of proof. I want to add too that maybe the ingredients are on their banned list. My advice is to carefully read their policies and, in your case especially since you do sell what are considered pharmaceuticals, check the list of products they won't allow (ephedrine is one of hundreds) and not to make unsubstantiated claims. You may also need a disclaimer in your case.

Thanks. I'm NOT selling pharmaceuticals. I sell cosmetic creams that have Dead Sea Salt and essential oils. These are not considered to be pharmaceuticals. In any event, I have my Google consultant on it. I did an Adwords course with him months ago and he had us open Adwords accounts. Today, I met with him and he told me to open another Adwords account under my biz email. This caused the problem that I encountered when I tried to re-submit my ads after getting my site ok'ed by Google. He's got an open line to Google and promised to fix me up. Thanks, all.

i have the same problem i have checked their term of service i can't find what i did wrong and there was no warning i even deleted a page. i mean i think this is unfair because of this i have removed the domain and transferred it.google just suspend account without warning, at least sending a message to let you know you need to do to fix the problem. this is very disappointing, i have appealed several times no respond am not even sure what i did. and i have sent a contact form.i hope i get a reply then.

  • Dena, maybe the word pharmaceutical was the wrong one but it's definitely medicinal the way I read it. One product says "pain relief". But no matter how you classify it, in the end what matters is how Google sees it. If they say it's medicinal, then that's what it is no matter how hard you object.

If the issue is that you have more than one account, as I said before, easy fix which it seems your consultant will take care of. I still recommend to brush up on the policies. If you have a consultant/manager/Google rep, they should know or at least double check in your case. I know if I took you as a client, I'd go over the policies to make sure you comply and recommend anything that may need to change on your site.

    Hi Dena,

It seems quite clear to me why AdWords suspended your website.

Your website is making "medicinal claims". That puts you squarely within the pharmaceuticals category. I am not saying that your products are pharmaceuticals, clearly they are not, however you are making very specific medical and health benefit claims which means that in the eyes of AdWords reviewers you are marketing your products as if they were in fact pharmaceuticals, which is a double violation of AdWords policy.

You are lucky that they have only suspended your website and not banned you as an advertiser for egregious violations of policy.

There are other advertisers on AdWords selling products in your niche. I suggest you examine those other websites and note how they do not make any claims of medical benefits. Those other advertisers are advertising the same types of products, sans medical claims, without issue on AdWords.

If you strip your website of all claims of heath benefits, and pain cures, and any other unsubstantiated claims, you may be able to get the website suspension lifted and successfully run ads on AdWords.

    HTH,

The thing is that other advertisers (like noxicare.com) make the same claims. But I have no way to know if they are classified somewhere as a pharmaceutical. Know what I mean?

        Hi Dena,

It appears that other advertisers, "like noxicare.com" in particular, are not advertising on AdWords. So they may be in the same boat that you are. To advertise on a top tier ad network you have to comply with their ad policies, no exceptions.

How do you know that they aren't advertising on Adwords?
You reckon they're only doing organic SEO? I thought the only way to drive massive amounts of traffic to your site was through PPC. Facebook doesn't seem to be a great vehicle when targeting people who actually BUY stuff....

            Hi Dena,

I know that they are not advertising that website because it would never pass inspection by the AdWords ad review process. This is my professional opinion.

I checked a few different monitoring services and none have ever seen AdWords ads for their website domain name. I provided a link to one of those reports in my previous post. Hence my statement that they "appear" not to be advertising that website on AdWords.

That doesn't mean that they, or someone else, are not using a custom landing page on a different website to advertise on AdWords, They might also be running ads on other ad networks, though I am not seeing any evidence of that on BI sources.

Looks like their main source of business is on Amazon, not their own website.
