Tracking system for beginners

Hi everyone,
I need some recommendation of a tracking system for a newbie that want to learn making money with bing ads.
Recently I found a bing ads click bank cpa guide and one of the things that was required was a tracking system. The recommended tracker was Prosper202 but I can't find the free version and they write that the reason they don't offer the free version anymore is because it has issues integrating into modern servers or something similar.

So I believe the smartest thing to do is to ask someone that has already been on that road to help me out with this issues.

I'm a complete newbie and I have only basic knowledge of how a tracking system works.

Please if anyone can help me I would be very grateful.

Cheers

Yep ... you can try ClickMeter for Free until 1000 clicks. Get started with that first & then you can start looking for paid options ....

    Hi Nattsurfaren,

You may be looking at really old, outdated information. Clickbank has supported conversion tracking with Google AdWords, Google Analytics, Yahoo! Search Marketing, Bing Ads, and generic Tracking/Retargeting Pixels for some time now.

    https://support.clickbank.com/hc/en-...ales-Reporting

Prosper202 is pretty much obsolete today due to the fact that you can now import conversion data into Google Analytics, and AdWords.

Sadly, Bing Ads does not yet support this feature, so you can just use Google Analytics on any affiliate networks that haven't integrated tracking snippets yet like Clickbank has done.

      I'm a bit confused:
Sadly, Bing Ads does not yet support this feature, so you can just....
Did you mean so you can't just...
Sorry for looking like an idiot but sometimes text can be a bit tricky to me and I need to ensure that I fully understand you.

I was going to use clickbank so it is not a problem for me then if clickbank has this integrated tracking snippet. I mean google analytic will work with that?

I don't fully understand the technology so if you say tracking snippet to me I guess it is the same as tracking link. But then I read about tracking pixels maybe that is something similar. LOL. Need to read more
Thanks for trying to help me.

        Hi Nattsurfaren,

No, I did not make a mistake in my wording.

You can implement Bing Ads UET tracking code in Clickbanks, no need for alternative solutions, it is supported natively.

In addition, both Google Analytics, and AdWords allows you to import offline conversions which might be needed on other affiliate marketing networks, not Clickbanks.

Many affiliate networks these days offer integration with Google Analytics, or the ad platforms tracking pixels which can be used for tracking conversions. There is an option even for affiliate networks that do not provided integration since you can now import conversion data into Google Analytics, or AdWords.

"Sadly", Bing Ads does not yet offer data import for EUT tracking, so you have to use an alternative, fortunately Google Analytics can be used for that alternative. If Bing Ads supported it natively, you could use the native bid management automation features in Bing Ads, but they don't support data import into Bing Ads so that is what is sad, and that is why you have to use a 3rd party conversion tracker, like Google Analytics custom campaigns (or other 3rd party tracking), in Bing Ads for offline conversion tracking.

I hope that clarifies what I meant by "sadly".

I think I understand what you mean now.
I figure Google analytics needs a landing page. So you need a server and skills in designing landing pages (which is what I suck at).
My option would be to use ClickMeter then if I want to skip a landing page?

            Hi Nattsurfaren,

Actually, the purchase conversion takes place on Clickbanks checkout page, there is no need for ClickMeter, or any other 3rd party conversion tracker regardless of whether you are using a custom landing page, or not..

Clickbank has native support for the Bing Ads UET tag. All you need to do is implement it in Clickbank and your conversions will be reported directly to the exact place you need it, within the Bing Ads campaign data. Using a 3rd party tool to track conversions would just needlessly complicate your campaign management tasks.

If you are using custom landing pages I would definitely implement Google Analytics on that landing page and ad it to Clickbank's Integrated Sales Reporting to get valuable data you can use to optimize your landing page performance as well as to gain insights into specific traffic segments.

Regardless of whether you choose to use any 3rd party marketing analytics app, or not, the place you eventually need to get your conversion data into is your Bing Ads account. There is only one way to get conversion data into Bings Ads and that is through the Bing Ads UET tag. Fortunately for you Clickbanks provides full integration with the Bing Ads UET tag, so that is the way to go if you are using Bing Ads with Clickbank products.

              Don ...

Based on what i understand from your post above & what i see right now in CB & BingAds portal ... UET tag support is not available yet on CB (under Ad Tracking Code).

The UET option you are suggesting is using own website/landing page and not through direct linking to a cb link.. Is that correct understanding?

I am actually confused with your statement 'Clickbank has native support for the Bing Ads UET tag. All you need to do is implement it in Clickbank and your conversions will be reported directly to the exact place you need it, within the Bing Ads campaign data.' -- Is this existing as on today & is possible with Direct linking?

I was watching "How to create tracking links for clickbank products" on youtube. She is using the google analytics url builder.
The domain she uses is clickbank.
If i put this link on Bing Ads the only participant that will be involved is Bing and Clickbank. Google analytics will have no clue this link was clicked.
So if i need to track this in Google analytics I need my own landing page and I need it registered with my G-Analytics account. I don't know of any option to add my G-Analytics registration code to my clickbank account.
The registration code should be a way to identify that I'm the owner/tracker of the web page.
I can't find any tutorial describing a way to use G-Analytics without access to my own landing page.

    So I have two options:
    1. Use google analytic tracking system.
    2. Use clickmeter.

    Which option do you recommend?

How quick are google analytic with updating the reports compared to clickmeter.
I mean lagging can be a risky and costly business.

    Hi Nattsurfaren,

Sorry, I forgot to mention that Clickbank has deprecated support for Bing Ads "officially", however it is still possible to implement using the src URL in the noscripts (non-Javascript) portion of the UET tag snippet.

    Just follow these steps:
    1. Log in to your ClickBank account.
    2. Click the Settings tab.
    3. Click My Site.
    4. Click Add Tracking Code on the bottom left side of the Integrated Sales Reporting box.
    5. Select Generic Tracking/Retargeting Pixels
    6. Insert the URL from the UET tag noscripts img src attribute using a secure protocol.

    Code:
    <noscript>
    <img src="//bat.bing.com/action/0?ti=TAG_ID_HERE&Ver=2" height="0" width="0" style="display:none; visibility: hidden;" />
    </noscript>
    i.e. https://bat.bing.com/action/0?ti=TAG_ID_HERE&Ver=2

Another issue with this if I think about it is the dangerous lagging in reporting. I need reporting instantly so that I don't lose money over bad tests.
