How many monthly searches for a keyword is enough for 2 conversions a month?

I have been thinking to promote a high ticket software. If I can make 2 conversions a month, I would be quite satisfied. I know a guy who can rank my review video on 1st page of Google for a long tail keyword or some other less-competitive keywords with low search volume.

What do you think, how many monthly searches for a keyword is enough (on average) for 2 conversions a month if I have video on 1st page of Google?

Thanks!

    Hi ilovric001,

Search volume isn't the primary factor in ranking competitiveness, commercial intent is. As a result some of your best converting long tail keywords can often be highly competitive.

The general idea behind targeting long tail keywords is that traffic from a few keywords will not be significant, yet the traffic and conversions from hundreds, or even thousands of low volume keywords can add up over time to equal even more that the traffic/conversions from the short head keywords.

Your goal should be to rank for a large number of long-tail keywords, not just one, or just a few.

The fact is that the higher priced a product the lower the conversion rate will tend to be, generally speaking. So for a high ticket item you usually need a lot more traffic, not less. Exactly how much traffic you need is determined by your actual conversion rate.

I suggest you modify your plan and go ahead and target many, many low volume search terms, not just one, or just a few. That is what is meant by the term "long-tail", it isn't a "long tail" keyword unless you have a large number of them to make out that long tail.

    HTH,

    Don Burk

Thanks. I believe that I can also rank a video for one short keyword which has 500-600 monthly searches. Do you think that volume is enough for 2 high ticket conversions a month (or even just 1) ?

      Thanks!

I've red somewhere that 50% of the clicks are for the first result on google. So if you can rank a keyword with 600 searches per month and if you are number 1 for that keyword you will receive approx half of that (300 visits from that keyword). 2 conversions will be less than 1% conversion rate. It could be possible but this is just theory. You have to try it to see if it actually works.

Your question is like asking; how many women must I talk to before we bump uglies?

There is NO way to answer that. There are so many factors it's just not possible.

There is no answer to this question.

Will you be making your prospects go through a sales funnel before actually presenting them a high ticket offer?

Unless you are an authority in your niche, getting a sale off a high ticket offer will be actually quite difficult if you are not sending them through a sales funnel.

Many high ticket offers are closed from webinars / phone call sales.

If you have a proven sales funnel and you understand your audience pretty well, then getting 2 sales should be possible.

However, if you are not sending them through a good sales funnel, I don't think that your high ticket software will sell well.
