Hello guys,

I have a question about PPC keyword tracking tools.

I plan to use Adwords -> My Landing Page -> Direct to order page (vendor's site)

How do I track keywords that make a sale?

Could you please give me advice?

Thanks,
Blackua

First, are you trying to run Clickbank offers on Adwords?

If so, your campaign will most likely be rejected, or you can even be banned immediately for trying to run it. Google is pretty unforgiving when it comes to running affiliate offers, especially offers on Clickbank.

If you're running an offer that is Google compliant and your landing page/website is also compliant, there are several types of tracking you can use.

Do you want a tracker that you will need to setup and host on your own domain, or do you want a tracker that's managed by a third party and you just need to "plug and play?"

    Thank you for your answer

I used to use prosper202, but I didn't know how to install properly and ended up with wrong tracking.

For your question, I prefer both of them.

    Thank you for your advice.

    Hi Blackua,

It's easy, no need to worry about to get black listed..

In order to secure yourself from Google's Penalty ensure you are using link cloaking..

Secondly, You can pass keywords in sub_id's or UTM parameters in your client's page.

You would be needing a basic php script writing for your website which get's the keyword from URL and post it to the client's url in subid's.

Yes, google together with clickbank can be dangerous.
    I would NOT do it!

Bing and direct linking to clickbank works if you promote
the right offers. Better is using a landing page together
with a squeeze page, like you said already, then you are
100% compliant with Bing and you can get a good
    quality score.

    I still use Prosper202 because it's self-hosted and this
means nobody can sniff out your converting campaigns.
    And this happens quiet often...

DanielBlue is dead on the money.

I also use Prosper202 for tracking along with a dedicated VPS server and it's wonderful. No need to worry about anyone seeing my campaign data, which I did have to worry about when I was using Bevomedia for tracking (that is--until they started charging). Glad I had to make the switch though.

As far as cloaking, don't do it. We're talking about Google here. They can detect the cloaking happening eventually, and they'll ban you for sure once they do. It just isn't worth the risk when you can just head over to Bing like DanielBlue stated.

You can run Clickbank offers there all day as long as they're compliant with Bing's Terms of Service.

Prosper202 is free, so I recommend checking it out if you can.

I would avoid promoting any type of affiliate programme with Adwords. They hate affiliates creating bridge pages and linking to an affiliate offer. They do allow some affiliate sites though. If you do a search for web hosting there are a number of affiliate sites. I think they allow them so long as you provide plenty of value. But it's risky.

I had a campaign rejected as the affiliate site I was promoting had a money-back guarantee. They told me I had to remove the money back guarantee, which of course I couldn't do as I wasn't the site owner. They never said I couldn't direct link though.

Bing doesn't mind affiliates if you have your own landing page but there's just not as much search volume there.
