It is getting harder and harder. AdSense earnings fluctuate so greatly and frequently that it can be hard to validate it as a "steady source" of income.

Anytime. I answered a similar question a few days ago and after doing the research I noticed that over the course of about the last 2 years AdSense users were losing out too often and many were jumping ship

I used it for a while but the clicks would change so much that you never knew what you were gonna make. Finally got where I changed them all to Amazon ads.

I used Adsense years and made a bit of money but then my account got banned for some stupid reasons.. lol

But I hear that it is becoming harder to earn a decent online income from Adsense.

I wouldn't really use them to earn from my site's revenue.

    I hope this helps!

I wish you the best of the best!

    Cheers!

It is not as steady as the people think so, You have to wait for first 4-6 months for actual earning to start.

BS. I made my first earning within a couple of days. Do your research. Yes, you can make $$ using adsense, but there's other sources of income out there that has a better payout.

I'd focus on getting traffic to your site first. But not just any traffic, but traffic catered to your niche.

Buddy, This new era is Quality Content. Google it is getting smarter and smarters. If you have good source of quality content and an audience you will be to make good money. The problem is that it takes time to build both. If you use it as an extra side project it could make some money I have couple websites and they make aoub $400-$600 a month. Please read the TOS (Term of Conditions) if not you can get banned very easily. Other sources could be "Amazon Affiliate Network" etc. But Again you need content and an audience.

CONTENT is the QUEEN. And it is a bitch... LOL donf forget it

I am using AdSense and I am making ~$500 per month currently but you should not depend on AdSense totally as Google is on the verge of penalizing blogs. One hit and you are gone. So I have started giving my attention to CPA and other internet marketing streams....

Yes, you can. But it gets harder and harder.

If you are planning to do this, yo need to:

You need a content rich website
You need a high quality website
You need a LOT of traffic
You need to target the right keywords
You need to fully comply with AdSense policies
You need to have a website with a purpose and not a MFA

    Hope this helps.

You won't get rich off it, that's for sure. Adsense can be a decent way to add a solid income though - just don't make it your main source.

I have read cases where people are still doing very well with Adsense. As well as 10K a month. Proper niche selection, quality content, viral shares all count towards good earnings. Certainly, MFA sites are the past but quality Adsense sites can and do well

Is it possible? Absolutely. Do some people make a lot of money at it? Of course. But I think the payments vary so wildly that it's hard to call anything steady/certain. I certainly wouldn't depend on it to live, but if you have the time to provide valuable content and want to make some extra money, then it's absolutely doable.
      {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[9682106].message }}

I agree with Jason and some of the other guys who say that adsense makes money. While there are people who've got banned for reasons not known but still I have pals who are making a decent 4 figure from adsense on a monthly basis.
You need to focus on your content - keep it fresh and relevant and try to engage your audience allowing them to comment on your posts and on your social media pages. But I'll strongly suggest that you should diversify and monetise your site using CPA and affiliate links from private networks if possible.
    My 2 cents

I mix adsense with some affiliate banners and the income is decent. Let's say that I could live from this revenue, but nothing more. Just from adsense I don't get more than $200/month from all my 5 websites.

It is certainly still working. With anything that becomes saturated, earnings decrease - but there is still a lot of money made out there directly from Adsense banners and text ads.

I find adsense delivers consistent results but I only use it on specific niches.

Usually I re-invest the total from adsense into PPC to drive traffic to money sites that sell my own products so I always see the revenues from adsense as a discount on what I'm doing with PPC

        That's very clever.

Are you running PPC text ads or banners?

Does the total amount from adsense cover all of your PPC costs or do you need to add to it?

Usually text ads for search but the occasional banner.

I'm always adding to the pot when it delivers higher results.

It used to be good to take adsense revenue and put it into mobile targeted ads but now the costs of them in some of the areas I'm targeting is rising so I just add it to the general budget with my focus on like 80% search - text, 10% mobile and 10% display.

Mobile users of my money sites is at over 35% but for me it is still better to go down the search route as most of the sales are $200 plus and people are reluctant to purchase over $100 on mobile right now.

I tend to drive the mobile enquiry towards a later desktop experience where they are more comfortable making the larger purchase.

Note. I tend to sell physical products we control or manufacture and a few info products we developed, some consultancy work and only minor (in the scheme of things) affiliate products from a total revenue point of view.

You can still make money with adsense, but there are much better options to generate far more income. Experiment and test the best options for you and your niche.

Things have become really difficult to earn with adsense. You never know when they will ban your account. Completely unstable source of income.
