Hi Guys,

I am looking at SpyFu to check my keyword.

What I get is -
Global views 10k - local 4.4k,
CPC 0.17 Dollar,
Daily Clicks 14,
Daily Cost, 2.3 Dollar,
Click Through Rate = 20%,
Ranking Difficulty = 63 (there are many University Sites in my niche)

There is only one Advertiser in that niche (sometimes a second) - as far as i can see if I would only bid say 2ct per ad, it would still appear on the search results at second place.
Is that recommended or should I insert 17ct in my google adwords interface?

Could you also get me an estimate of the amounts of sales I can expect (product is 30 Dollar) per month when there is not much of competition. It is an info product.

    Hi TomFerencz,

There are a lot of variables to consider, including a minimum bid that you may need to meet.

Often when you see few advertisers competing for a keyword, there is a reason for that. It could be that there is demand for that niche and few companies to meet that demand. However, it is also common that that the keyword is a relatively poor choice for advertisers.

If the keyword is a bit ambiguous, or overly broad, then it may be a poor choice for advertisers and that could be why here are only a couple other advertisers. Keep in mind that such keywords will rarely earn a good Quality Score, which means the CPC needed to get impressions may be prohibitively high.

As I said above, there are a lot of variables, so without having a lot more specific information we can only speak about common situations in a general way. The bottom line is you need to test the keyword, find out what the value per click is and how many clicks can be purchased that have a positive ROI. Let that data answer your questions.

Really need to know more about the product and the business before I can make any suggestions or even comment on the data.

You'll have to be a little less ambiguous in your post.
