Newbie Questions
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

I am a complete newbie to this and I have some question that I would like to ask, maybe someone could be kind enough to answer for me...

1) I went to add minder and paid for 10000 visitors and I see in the file the ip numbers of those people, where are the email addresses?

2) What exactly is meant by the term Opt in Subscribers?

3) Some posts I read here say don't bother buying them it doesn't work, it that true?

4) When I go to the Co Op I see that I have 3 email addresses is that my list and did they come from those 10000 that I bought?

I have other questions but that will do for a start, I know they are stupid questions but you know the old saying hey.

Regards
David

Hi Buddy,

Let me see if I can help you.

Well answering to your first question, I still used "AddMinder" service for some time. You need to know that AddMinder only directs visitors for you squeeze page (the page with your newsletter form) and then the visitor decides if he wants to sign up, the numbers of sign ups may vary I usually got around 40-50 subscribers for each 10000 visitors campain. Your squeeze page needs to convince the visitor to subscribe, in the mermbers area you can find very good ones that Stone has designed and them work very well. You can find their names and e-mail addresses in your autoresponder after they sign up.

About Opt-in / Double Opt-in Subscribers it works like this: When a new visitor visits your website or your squeeze page there will be a form in there where they can subscribe to your newletter. After filling in their name and e-mail address they will receive a message in their e-mail box asking for them to confirm their interests and click on a link to be added to your list, this is called "Double Opt-in" because the person needs to confirm (again) the interest in being your subscriber.
In your autoresponder you have to option to disable this function and every time a person fills out the form on your page they will be added to your list immediately without needing to confirm, this increases the number of people in your list because many people fill out forms on every site they visit and then they don't confirm their interest by clickling on e-mail message link.
Please be careful when switching your autoresponder to work this way, I myself don't use this and I prefer the Double Opt-in option because it avoids spam complaints and you will have a list with people who are "Really Interested" in what you have to offer. As your autoresponder price depends on the size of your list, you'll will want to have interested prospects in your list.

I believe you refer about buying leads in your third question. GetResponse offers you the option of buying leads directly from them, I use that too and I can say that it works good. Be aware that your leads are not delivered right away, GetResponse will show your ad to potential subscribers and they will be added to your list immediately if they decide to subscribe without needing to double opt-in. I'm using it right now and I get around 3-5 subscribers a day from my campaign. The benefit of using this is that you're "guaranteed" to receive these leads (even if it takes a while) differently from buying visitors where you can get 10000 subscribers or none at all.

I hope I have helped to clarify some of your questions.

Best Regards and Success!!

Hi David,

Anderson has made some good points there, my only comment would be that yes I use Getresponse because they are double opt in but no I don't use AdMinder leads.

If you read the posts in this forum you will find that most PIPS members don't use Ad Minder leads because they don't convert. If you are looking to buy a car then there is no point in being directed to a health food site, that's what is meant by un-targeted leads. Some of them may be re-cycled or no longer excist so my advice would be to save your money,

just my thoughts,

regards,

Mal.

Hi Folks,

I absolutely agree. The leads or visitors you want on your site are the ones that are targeted.

Why pay a certain amount of money for hits to your website when all it might do is raise your Alexa ranking temporarily.

People want a quick fix and the adminder guaranteed visitor program offers that but in reality just leave you with a little less money in your bank account....

Take care

Hi David, it does take some time to figure it all aout, but you are on the right track.

Ask before you act, is a good lesson. The folks here will give you straight answers on what works what doesn't.

Start with a budget and then stick to it, as you gain confidence with free methods of gaining traffic you will be able to add in other methods.

My biggest mistake was listening to the hype and not asking questions, it cost me some money, thankfully not too much.

My rule of thumb now is if it costs me, I look to see what PIPS people say about the program before I buy. That way I weed out the ones that are not effective, and use more of my budget on the ones that are effective.

You've been given great advice so far. All I have to add is that if you want to pay for something, pay for GetResponse Leads. I think it's roughly around $98 or so for 200 newsletter signups. This way you're guaranteed to get 200 sign-ups, whereas with AdMinder you're not guaranteed anything, expect the non-targeted and worthless traffic they send your way.

Just my thoughts

Alan

Hi, David:

You have received some great answers already. Here is my contribution:

1) I paid AdMinder for 10,000 visitors and received very few sign-ups. It was not worth it.

2) GetResponse is a "Confirmed Opt-In" system, meaning that subscribers must do two things. First, they must submit their opt-in form indicating their desire to be added to your list. Second, they must respond to a "Confirmation" email from GR before they are added to your mailing list. If they do not confirm in that second step, they will not be added to the list. This weeds out mistakes and people who try to submit other people's email without their approval.

3) See #1 - Guaranteed Visitors do not convert to subscribers or customers very well. Not worth it.

4) If you are talking about the PIPS Co-op, that has nothing to do with AdMinder to my knowledge. You will have to ask the Co-op about those three email addresses.

Hi,

I purchased the get response leads in October 2008. The leads are a good way to build your subscriber list. I'm satisfied with their service it worth the money.

I just want to add a brief word on my last post:

Just like Jeff told us, these leads (from addminder) are not targeted and we don't know were they are coming from. The only time I used AddMinder I got around 40 leads but this because I used "Single Opt-in" which I never used again and don't recommend because of spam complaints, I also noticed that many of these people who came from AddMinder unsubscribed after some days. I did this in my fist month with PIPS and I learned with my mistake.

In a nutshell, if you want to purchase leads get them from GetResponse, it may take some time for you to receive all of them but you won't have to worry about spam complaints, the leads are responsive and interested in what you have to offer!

I think you would also like Interspire Email. Instead of web based AWEBER and Getresponse, The cost for interspire is more efficient as your business florishes

Hi, David:

You are very welcome. That's the main purpose and benefit of the Warrior/PIPS forum, to allow everyone to ask questions, and others the opportunity to share their experience and insight.

Feel welcome to ask away, anytime you need to.

Hope Everybody Is Having a "Learning Day"....I know I sure am....As this is one of my first few visits and after having spent $$ for 20k Adminder Ads......I now know I am not the only one that lacked conversions......I think I'll go over to
Getresposne" and see what the response is there.

Thanks for the info!

Next question....about Articles....solo ads, 6 line ads, classified ads .....which are you having the best trackable results with??

Appreciate any input?
