Hi, Mira:

If you start a niche site, you will still have to do all of the same things for it that you do for your PIPS site: blogging, article marketing, forums, social sites, blog commenting, etc., etc.

You may or may not experience better results.

Here is one benefit of niche sites purchased through the Niche Power Group: several PPG members have said that those niche sites show up quicker in the search engines than our PIPS sites have been doing. So, if you promote the niche site heavily using the methods mentioned above, there is a better chance of getting some sales.

The other benefit of a well-chosen niche is that it will be less competitive than the "opportunity seeker" niche that many of our PIPS sites are targeted for.

These are my opinions. I'll be interested in opinions and experiences from other members, too.

You can create niche sites by starting sub domains with your PIPS site. Niches could be email marketing, affiliate marketing, paid surveys, network marketing, data entry, and so on.

All you are doing is targeting a smaller market than the home business or work at home market might be.

Host4profit gives you free sub-domains so it is a way to narrow the niche down and make money without buying new domain names too.

Mira, looking to expand your site into a smaller niche area is a wise choice. The "Biz Op" niche is horribly overcrowded, and difficult for a newcomer to succeed in without a LOT of hard work.

GT and Jeff both make good points. My suggestion is to play around with your PIPS site for a bit, get comfortable with editing and customizing your site to make it your own. Then research the niche you want to go into more detail with, and go from there. There are hundreds of different paths you can take from here, just make sure you choose wisely, and give it all you have. Good Luck!

Hi Mira,

I have a few niche sites and find that the amount of work that it takes to get good search engine rankings and traffic is much less than it does for the home business/make money market. The competition is much less. I also feel that it is good not to have all your income coming from a single source, so that is why I chose to go into other niches as well.

On the other hand, be careful that you don't take too much on. Having another website will reduce the amount of time to spend on your current site.

My preferred strategy is to build up traffic, sales and signups with one niche and only once I have done that move on to something new while still maintaining the previous site.

Cheers,
Suzanne

Hi,

I agree with Suzanne...it sound wonderful but if you have not learned proper traffic and seo tips so your gaining momentum from your 1st site then having several doesnt get you closer to financial independence.....

Take care

Jeff,

Thank you for your tip.

I will certainly look at creating more niche sites, as part of my PIPS site.

Thank you very much.

Hi Mira,

I have to agree with what the others are saying. In my experience, I have found it much easier to rank and make money with my other niche sites.

The niches I have chosen are just as popular as the "make money" niche but with far less competition. So in that sense, it is easier to make sales because I am able to go for keywords and rank for keywords that buyers would truly use to find what I have to offer. With my PIPS site it will take me much longer to rank for real targeted keywords.

I will say though that I would never be able to make money with any niche if I haven't started here with PIPS first.

When you are ready and feel comfortable in your traffic generating efforts, I would absolutely suggest trying a different niche.
