Default food for thought - 2 tough questions

I received this by email and just had to pass it on.

2 tough questions

Question 1:

If you knew a woman who was pregnant, who had 8 kids already, three who
Were deaf, two who were blind, one mentally retarded, and she had
Syphilis, would you recommend that she have an abortion?

Read the next question before looking at the response for this one.

Question 2:
It is time to elect a new world leader, and only your vote counts.
Here are the facts about the three candidates. Who would you vote for?

Candidate A.

Associates with crooked politicians, and consults with astrologist
He's had two mistresses. He also chain smokes and drinks 8 to 10 martinis a day.

Candida te B.

He was kicked out of office twice, sleeps until
noon, used opium in
College and drinks a quart of whiskey every evening.

Candidate C

He is a decorated war hero. He's a vegetarian, doesn't smoke, drinks an
Occasional beer and never cheated on his wife.

Which of these candidates would be our choice?

Decide first... No peeking, then scroll down for the response.

Candidate A is Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Candidate B is Winston Churchill.
Candidate C is Adolph=2 0Hitler.

And, by the way, on your answer to the abortion question:

If you said YES, you just killed Beethoven.

Pretty interesting isn't it? Makes a person think before judging someone.

Wait till you see the end of this note! Keep reading..

Never be afraid to try something new.

Remember:

Amateurs...built the ark.
Professionals...built the Titanic

And Finally, can you imagine working for a company that has a little more
Than 500 employees and has the following statistics:

* 29 have been accused of spousal abuse
* 7 have been arrested for fraud
* 19 have been accused of writing bad checks
* 117 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses
* 3 have done time for assault
* 71 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit
* 14 have been arrested on drug-related charges
* 8 have been arrested for shoplifting
* 21 are currently defendants in lawsuits
* 84 have been arrested for drunk driving in the last year...

Can you guess which organization this is?

Give up yet?

It's the 535 members of the United States Congress.

The same group that crank out hundreds of new laws each year designed to
Keep the rest of us in line.

Makes you think doesn't it!

Graham,

I've seen this one before and never bothered to copy it down. I won't make that mistake again. I'm definately copying it this time around. Ü

This is a very good post, humorous and very though provoking at the same time.

Thanks for the eye opener.

All good - but hardly relevant. In Beethoven's case - he was raised over 200 hundred years ago. It also depends WHERE the child was being born.

Its probably also worth noting that Beethoven's mother only had 7 children INCLUDING him annnnd only 3 of the 7 survived infancy.

And the fact is Hitler was probably a better leader than Roosevelt or Churchill. Now I can't say for sure - it would only be my opinion. And I'm definitely not saying the Hitler was good or anything. But it was his VIEWS, not his leadership that was off.

Yes he became a terrible human being and did so many terrible things - BUT he may have been a better LEADER than the other 2.

Anyway just a different perspective on the matter.

And the Ark was a fictional story . . .

Huh, kinda throws you for a loop eh? And the reason I picked B over C was because C sounded boring!

JRecard, quick comment on your post, Hitler would have been a great marketer, he knew how to pick a targeted audience, that's for sure. But a great leader? I think not. A great leader, in the usual sense, looks out for ALL their people...

@ SuccessForFree
Haha I agree with you to a point.

However,

A great leader does not necessarily mean a morally adept leader. A great leader is a great LEADER - not a great humanitarian or a great person

Leadership is the process of social influence in which one person can enlist the aid and support of others in the accomplishment of a common task.

Something Hitler was incredible at.

Yeh right -

"A bad tree can't bear good fruit, and good tree can't bear bad fruit'. Jesus Christ.

'The fruit doesn't fall far from the tree'. Mahareshi Mahesh Yogi

One reason to never be blindly patriotic - we really should 'judge a book by its cover' and I think the situation of late proves that we should find out who is in control of our country and act accordingly.

It's not to say people shouldn't forgive but they should never forget either.

Far from fictional? Please.

Let me clarify here - The STORY of the ark is fictional. Now I don't deny the fact that there may have been ark built somewhere, sometime - which was similar to the one in genesis. But highly exaggerated.

But it was built by a 600 year old man? Come on.

I don't think that anything in the book of Genesis was meant to be taken literally.

Comparing 'The Ark' to The Titanic is a little bit eccentric

All I'm going to say is that there is nothing "exaggerated" or "fictional" about the Book of Genesis or any other Book of the Bible. It is pure truth and not meant to be thought of otherwise.

As far as the age, people back then lived A LOT longer than people today. Some lived to be 800 - 900 years old. That's NOT an exaggeration.

PM me if you would like to discuss this further.

Take Care,

Alan

Hi GT,

Yes, you're right. I remembered the name but couldn't remember the age.

Very interesting facts as well, and yes, vinyls are so decades ago.

Oh, sorry.

Here's a p.s.:

Some believe that there was a vapour barrier surrounding the earth at that time that protected humans from harmful radiation, etc., and created a true tropical paradise allowing for incredible longevity.

God threatened the Great Flood, and he delivered! Some believe it was the vapour barrier that rained down and flooded the earth.

Once the barrier was gone and the radiation got through, our days were numbered!

By the way, my opinion on the earlier discussion: all Scripture is divinely inspired and can be accepted as Truth.

Thank you Alan and GT. You know I know that you know...

As for 'religious' discussion, they are prohibited by the Warrior Forum.

This is how the devil works to keep the Word concealed. Not that the WF is the devil, but people will make statements that cause a conflict and then it can get ugly. So for this reason we are not supposed to even mention it.

All I will say is 'let those that have eyes, see' (if not, all we can do is pray for them).

PaX

Let's drop this particular line of dialogue so I don't have to lock the thread.
