Like many many of you I use WordPress for all of my websites. One of the benefits I like is the spam guard that protects my site from sites posting inappropriate links. I've never paid any attention to it I am just very grateful for it because it prevents so much junk from appearing on my site. Today for some reason I decided to check some of the comments that were marked as spam. There were over 1,100 so I just checked a few pages The vast majority was the typical spam. Hundreds and hundreds of adult sites, and pharmaceutical sites promoting just about every kind of drug imaginable. However, I also have dozens of comments that were legitimate. All of these comments I would have missed if I hadn't been bored one Saturday morning. Now I know to check it everyday. John |
