I have come to realise that it is very useful and motivating to write down your expectations and dreams and also note where you are standing at now. This gives a good gauge of how much harder you have to work and how far you are away from achieving your dream. I once told myself when I first begain internet marketing that as long as I am able to cover the cost for webhosting and autoresponder, I am contented and I really did within weeks because of my eagerness and anxiety to "recoup my loss". What a childish thing to say, my apologies! Today, I am making more than I imagined I could... So ladies and gentlemen, would you join me and share your words of encouragement with the fellow PIPSters here and also let us know what you have achieved so far and how far are you away from your dream internet income? Let me get started... I hope to rake in a constant 5 figures (say maybe $12,000) every month. Well, don't jeer at me because this is my dream! And now I am getting a range of $3000-$7000 a month (including my blog, adsense and other affiliate marketing stuff). So I am about 50% there! How about you? Hope this thread gets exciting... |

Hi Ben. I think this will be a good topic and setting goals is very important. However I want to strongly emphasize something that Mark Joyner taught me in the course 'Simpleology'. Make "SMALL, ACHIEVABLE GOALS". Focus on the target, shoot for the target and hit it - then go for the next one. (I understand this because if people make their goal too high all at once they may just get discouraged and disappointed - and then quit). Mark Joyner is a former military officer and internet marketing millionaire. He makes a lot of sense. (and a lot of cents, lol) So he talks about having short term, mid-range and long-term goals. Short term is like ASAP and then say mid-range like 'this year' and then long-term could be 2 years - So logically - start with something achievable like 3 sales. Then 6, then 12, whatever like that. |

My goal is as much as I possibly can. No real dollar figure on it. But, I do believe in setting large goals that are obtainable, with work, rather than setting small goals that are easy. I did admire the fact that you were content at first to simply have your business pay for itself. That should be everyone's first goal. Breaking even is great because there isn't much stress financially. It really isn't hard to do with a little effort. |

Everybody has a different comfort level. Some can be satisfied with $2-3K monthly. Others desire a much higher comfort level of $10-15k monthly. Both are happy because they have what they want. |

I haven't really made any money with this yet, and if anything am a few hundred dollars out. Still, I am not giving up. I still have a lot of work to do and a lot to learn. I got into this because I am on Social Security and they pay less than $700 per month. I wanted a way out. My fiance is in the same boat. So, since we combined make less than $1500 per month, I would say I would be satisfied to make 1500 to 2000 per month for the time being, just so that A, I make back the money I budgeted to put into this and B, I make more than Social Security pays us both. Actually I'd probably want to bump that up to 2500 so that it makes up for the income tax too. I'd say that's a reasonable goal for me. I'm not expecting 5 figures for quite some time, and 6 for even longer! I'd be happy just to break 20k or so per year!! Of course if I achieve that, I'll go higher, but that's it for now. |

Hi! i would also like to share my short term goals something that i can possibly achieve within a short period of time, to me for now, i'm just aiming for $1000 a month since i do not earn a whole lot, so once i have achieved this simple goal, then i'll go a little bit higher for a few hundred and so on and so forth. So hopefully we will be able to achieve our expected earnings per month. |
