Can anyone advise me. I am trying to upgrade my blog from WP2,2 to WP2.6 and ran into problems with FTP. I entered http://ftp.domainname and it opens up my website http://www.domainname. It's the first time I am login into my FTP account so I'm not sure what I should do.. All I know is that my username and password are the same as my WEBePanel username and password. I could not get the connection to FTP. Could anyone advise. Thanks Peter |

Not sure what to tell you but I know I use "local host" when logging in using Core FTP.

Peter in Filezilla which is what I use there are settings in the Site manager. Under General it has "Host": username.my-ehost.com (your Host4Profit username) Under Advanced it has "Default Remote Directory" /username-www Remember username and password are case sensitive - either lower-case, UPPER-CASE, or Sentence-Case As well you should have fields where you enter the username and password. If I was you I would look at your welcome letter from Host4Profit and/or ask them to resend it because it has detailed FTP info (support(at)host4profit.net) If after checking all your settings, it still doesn't work - do you have a firewall in your security? Try disabling it temporarily. Even Windows has a firewall (XP or later) and try disabling that. Otherwise you could send the details of what you are setting to Host4Profit and they would tell you exactly what to change. |
