Your question is not clear. Do you have a main domain and have you installed WP in a directory or a subdomain? If that is the case then to see your blog you will have to go to the correct file path http://yourdomain.com/blog or blog.yourdomain.com. You could just go to settings/general in your wp dashboard and look for the file path or your blog where it is shown.

Satya, Go to the regular page at Hostgator.com and they have a Live Support Chat Client. Talk/text to them there and tell them exactly what you did and what is happening now. They are very helpful and fast. It is a little weird how Hostgator makes top level domains into sub-domains in their structure and you need help understanding the master account (first domain you set up) and then to be sure that the subdomains (other domains) are set up in the right place Just check with them directly for fastest results. With my 2 Wordpress sites/domains - not on Hostgator, but the point is neither of them say 'blog' in the address, and each domain has WP installed. (the3rdpartynetwork.com and the3rdpartynetx.com) - but those are the website itself which is WordPress - it is not a site PLUS a blog - it is a blog website. then my 3rd one does have /blog in the address, because the domain itself has a sales page) i (3rdpartynet-christian-classics.com/blog) - this may be your situation if you have a website already on the domain and you are now adding a blog to the same domain - you will need the 'blog' in the address if that is the case. I think this is just the path that you need to understand as Leanne says, and HostGator can make sure you have added the subdomains correctly and that the files are in the right directory. Let us know what they say as this will be something helpful we can share with others who may be in your situation in the future. (good luck) |

Could it be because you've set your home page as a static page? meaning, when you enter your url the front page will be displayed and not the latest blog entry? Quote:
You can select ()Latest post - if you'd like your latest blog post to display when someone visits your website. 2. Select Static Page - if you want a particular page to display instead of the blog entry. P. S. Pat has given you a good advice. The people at HostGator are very helpful. They will be able to help you out. N.B. Always backup your website before making any changes. Lian | ||

I mad a live chat with HostGator But the technician attending was not familiar with WP. He was unable to find the blog . Let me explain: I have installed WP in my domain xtramoneyguru.com. I received a mail from WP about wp-admin user Id and Password. When I enter into WP by logging in I could find my blog in the list but when I click on "view" then only my website page appears. It was advised by the technician of HostGator that I have to use correctly the theme. Then I can find my blog. May I get any help about posting Blog in detail. or any tutorial link of posting Blog in WP. Satya |

I believe the issue is about the fact you already have a site on that domain. You have the choice to make the blog into the website or to add the blog TO the website in which case you need to have /blog in the address. Please try the Live Chat AGAIN until you get someone who is familiar. If the guy says 'I am not familiar' then ask to speak to someone who is familiar. If not, keep trying at different times until you get someone to help you. |

The index.htm and index.html files trump the WordPress index.php file. Meaning that all you need do is rename (not remove) the index.html and if you have one the index.htm file. Refresh your browser and the WordPress site should appear. |

Right but then the website is not displayed anymore - I know the issue with index.php is Wordpress and the site is index.html But what if you want both your website AND the blog? |

Hostgator staff can install the blog for you whereever you need it to. When I had some troubles with WP - they've ALWAYS sorted it out. (but now I'm much more pro :-)) Marian |
