As a PIPS member, what should I do with my 100 monthly leads from Empowerism? I am new to PIPS, please advice. Should I download it and afterward what to do with the list?

For the most current answer to this please log in to your Empowerism account and go to their forum 'the Empower Board'.

You will see many conversations on this subject.

In the meantime I do have some documents to share on this subject. However if you are new I strongly advise you to just focus on completing your PIPS training and worry about the Empowerism leads later since there is no quick and easy way to use them that I know of.

Do check their board because there may be some improvements since this document was created.

How to use your Empowerism leads
3 different ways to contact your leads...

1. Using Microsoft Outlook Express
==================================
Outlook Express is a widely used email program. If you use the Windows Operating System on your PC chances are you're already using Outlook Express.

Check the tutorial videos at the EmpowerBoard if you want to use this method.

2. Using an Autoresponder service
=================================
This is probably the best and easiest way to work your leads.
The following autoresponder allows you to import your Empowerism leads from a file and doesn't require a double optin. As soon as you import your list the leads will start receiving the followup letters.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Get your autoresponder here: Autoresponder - Email Aces Autoresponders
You can chose from 3 account levels, account level 1 is good enough.

2. COPY THE FOLLOW-UP LETTERS INTO YOUR AUTORESPONDER

In your autoresponder backoffice goto:

Autoresponder Management
-> Replicate Autoresponder

This option allows you to pre-load an autoresponder and/or followup series from an existing Email Aces account. Enter the account info for the account you wishto copy messages from, and then click the "Replicate Messages Now!" button below.

The account name is: empowerism101
The password is: empowerism

!! The first email message (interval 0) includes a link to a free report. You can download the file and upload it to your own hosting, or just leave the link unchanged if you don't have any hosting. The report doesn't include any affiliate links, just solid information on how to start an online businesses. You're welcome to edit the report and add affiliate links to it.

3. SETTINGS

After you've imported the follow-up letters make sure to edit the personalization tags!

In your autoresponder backoffice goto:

Autoresponder Managment
-> Edit Replace/Merge Values

Input your personal information for the following fields:
[myurl] = Your Empowerism website (Empowerism Online Business Opportunity - International Success Mentoring and Global Online Business Opportunity)

[myfirstname] = The name you want on the outgoing messages, usually your own first name.

[myfield1] = A mailing address (can be a PO box!). This is to be compliant with US federal laws.

You also might want to provide a voice mail number. You can use K7 Unified Messaging, free Fax and voicemail to email. for free voice mail.

Next, goto Autoresponder Options.

Uncheck:
- Yes, use confirmed opt-in for the email subscribe method.
- Yes, use confirmed opt-in for the form subscribe method.
- Yes, use confirmed opt-in for the prospect import method.

That's it!

TIP#1: Don't just rely on the follow-up letters to do all the work. Use the Broadcast option to email your list on occasion. Start out by GIVING to your prospects! They'll appreciate it.

TIP#2: Grow your list. The free leads are a good start but you'll want to do more to grow your business faster. For example, you can add easily leads to your list by using web based lead capture forms. Just create the code for a
subscribers form from your autoresponder backoffice and copy&paste it on your websites and blogs.

Thank you Patrician, you are very helpful. I checked on email ace and seems like I need to spend another monthly subscription again before I can start making any money.
If I would like to send followup email manually to my downloaded leads, where can I get the follow up email?

You should find them at Empowerism - However if you don't, you are free to copy any of the messages in your PIPS Getresponse account - check the titles - there are probably even some that mention Empowerism specifically (I know there used to be)

Just log in to your Getresponse and go to Messages/Manage Follow-up Messages and you will see the long list of titles.

(again though I wouldn't take a lot of time with this as the bottom line is getting your other marketing in place so that you will get leads from your PIPS site (through the newsletter opt-in form there)...

Remember when you sell PIPS you are promoting all of the 5-6 programs WITH ONE EFFORT - while it is fine eventually if you want to also promote the affiliate programs individually, right now the important thing is to get established in your PIPS business.

I did not use this 100 leads at all. I rather spend my time on building my PIPS business. I am too busy on my article marketing, blog posting and forum posting at the moment. I will still download my 100 leads every month for future. I will join ace autoresponder once I start earning some commission and put my free leads in action.

What about putting your Empowerism leads into your GetResponse Newsletter? The first 8 newletters are about Empowerism ,if I remember correctly.

Getresponse considers them 'purchased leads' which they don't allow in their system. (if you buy theirs they are already confirmed and automatically added to your campaign).

The Empowerism leads used to be good when they had their own responder and you just moved them each month. Now it is not as easy.

You could use your newsletters that are preloaded to your PIPS campaign if you copy and paste them using one of the techniques outlined by Empowerism above.

The leads you get from your web form on your site are the best leads because they are actually interested enough to add their email address. When you buy leads it is really a crap shoot - however I have to honestly say Getresponse leads at least stay subscribed and may convert to a sale eventually...

Well, If getresponse does not accept these leads ( I am not yet a member of Empowerism) then I would search for an autoresponder service which does. Wouldn't that be the logic and easiest way to use these leads ?

No actually it wouldn't.

This program, PlugInProfitSite which is the main business that includes all the programs, uses Getresponse. The 216 (400 day series) messages are encoded with Getresponse pre-defined values, the websites are embedded with the webform to opt-in to Getresponse.

It would be a major undertaking to change everything for the website to another responder.

The Empowerism leads are very inconsequential in comparison. Purchased leads are rarely much good - however if you think it makes more sense to go through major technical changes to use 50 free leads or whatever it is, then you are free to do that or anything else you want to do with your business.

To my mind it makes more sense to use the procedures they have put out for what to do with their leads. I just wish they still had their own responder.

Here is a more detailed explanation of what I meant. Manually input the
Empowerism leads into the web form on your PIPS site for your PIPS newsletter. Getresponse does not know that they came from someplace other than the internet,whatever that means. The Empowerism leads wanted a business opportunity and specifically,Empowerism and the first 8 messages promote Empowerism, so everything works out pretty well. The amount of expense to rent the other autoresponder is not made up by the amount of people who sign up for Empowerism. Furthermore,if pay to have traffic pointed at my OptIn or newsletter page either through lists or traffic exchanges,isn't that paid signups to some extent? Also, if you have already paid GetResponse for guaranteed signups,which IMHO,is a SUPER program,
then you are paying them and not taking advantage of just the newsletter
so that is how I see it.

Paid leads are lists of people that never heard of you and although they may have opted in to something or other years ago, they have not YET opted in to your newsletter.

For leads you get from YOUR opt-in forms, these are NOT purchased - they are people who have OPTED IN SPECIFICALLY TO YOUR OFFER.

Getresponse will create a DOUBLE OPT-IN lead for you when they send their confirmation email and the lead responds.

I do agree that Getresponse leads are the only ones I have found that are worth buying - (they are already DOUBLE OPT IN) and the rest I call 'pouring money down a black hole'. Leads are often sold as 'fresh' when in fact they are lists that have been sold down the river 100 times for years. Very small response if any.

I do agree though that if you manually add them ONE AT A TIME, you might get away with it. If not you may get your account shut down. (it has happened when people have uploaded a file - don't ask me how they knew the difference)

What they allow are uploaded files of 'existing customers' - that would be a list of people who you already have a relationship with - not blind leads -

As to your first statement, I was using paid very loosely and if they are interested in Empowerism and your newsletter they have to optin to both.
So I really do think we agree on all the concepts. I just used the term"paid leads" too loosely.
