I have just submitted my url through my Webepanel, can anyone tell me why there are some failures and some successes, and what make a failure

Hi Racey1,

Don't worry about it. It's not really something that you can control
(unless Pat says otherwise).
Just submit it and your site will be submitted as per normal. Sometimes,
some of the websites change their submission/acceptance stuff. Thus,
you'll have failure there because it's not connected right.

The search engines get a lot of traffic and very often they are busy when you submit your link. Try again later.

You are right Asher nothing we can do to control search engines. They have a life of their own! lol.

If you joined Empowerism they have a smarter tool where you can enter up to 25 links one time and they will submit automatically for you once per month.

I work on a need to know basis better to ask than giving my self headache thinking that I´d done something wrong

As long as Google, MSN, and Yahoo went through you are OK. Those are the three that get 90 percent or better of the traffic. Every once in a while I will see a search from AOL or some other search engine but it's not often. Like the top three they also spider the internet to gain site information. So once Google indexes your web site the rest will do the same if they haven't done it first.

Honestly, submitting to search engines doesn't really do much for you. They will find you on their own and rank you according to your page SEO and backlinks. Once you are indexed adding keyword optimized content on a very regular basis will get them coming back sooner. Blogging is a great and easy way to add content provided your blog is attached to your website.

Also, be sure you are social bookmarking your site. The search engines may not visit your site very often but they never leave the major social sites. You will be found within minutes of bookmarking your site at places like Stumbleupon. Digg, del.ic.ious etc.. Social bookmarking is much better and faster than submitting your site to SE's.

Hi Stephen sThanks for that tip, social book marking will be next on my agenda will be tomorrow now hope its not hard to do. Getting a bit hung up on the tekkie stuff still not altered front page of my site though will be having a go a that shortlyRacey
