Creating traffic from scratch
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

Hi gang,
Ive always been into sales and marketing but never online.
Ive got a few products to get going with and i have uploaded my 1st website tonight.
The question is how do i start driving some traffic to it??
Ive been looking around for info but there seems to be a million methods and my head is like ready to explode.
If anyone could give me abit of advice or offer a few simple steps to begin with it would be really really appreciated.
Warm Regards

Well, you could start out with writing some articles and posting them to some major article directories.

Hello, ChunkyNuts:

I agree with lanta99; article marketing is one of the most popular ways used to get traffic.

Also, blogging. Do you have a blog yet?

And that leads to my next recommendation. Signature files in online marketing forums (like the Warrior Forum) are an excellent way to promote your site and attract traffic ... but you do not yet have your WF sig file set up. (See my sig file below this post.)

I recomend you make it a priority to get your WF file set up. Just click on the "User CP" (Control Panel) link up above, then click on "Edit Signature" and go from there. When you have questions about that, feel welcome to come back here and ask.

If you have a web site or blog just add few words(Key words) and click Link button to add the link so that everytime you post in the forum it gets displayed below your message.

Select Key words and click link buttom from menu to link that word to a web site, Blog, Affiliate Links

Hope this helps

invest in some outsourching, to do it yourself will take months and you will spending all of your time and earning to little. 500 dollars will bring you alot of traffic and links. Just have a look on the forum whom you can outsource to

Hello, ChunkyNuts:

You're doing well - heading in the right direction with your forum signature!

You have the text; now you need to hyperlink it. In other words, turn the text into a link or URL that will take people to the website when they click it, like this:

EmergencyCashCow

I never know how to explain this properly. The problem is, I can't SHOW you the code because when I print the code, it turns the text into a link. Let me try:

First, go to the CP, Signature Edit screen.

In that screen, you need to type [url="http://www.emergencycashcow.co.uk"]

Next, type in your text, in this case, EmergencyCashCow (Type it in right beside the square bracket after .co.uk"] )

Then, right after the text, type in /url surrounded by the [ ] brackets.

Once you have all of that typed in in a single, continuous, unbroken line, click Preview Signature to see how it looks, whether or not it worked. If it worked, click Save Signature. If it didn't work, experiment again.

Then, when you are in your CP screen, you need to click on "Edit Options" under "Settings and Options." Go down the list to find "Thread Display Options." Click "Show Signatures" and you should be done!

Go to a forum topic thread where you have already posted a comment and check to see if your signature is there as hyper-linked text.

stormenfreya is right, invest in outsourcing if you can afford it. Article marketing works but it is a long term thing and really isn't the best way to get traffic as most say it is. The reason is because there are millions of articles and thousands being written weekly. Article marketing will create backlinks but again it is a long process especially in the work at home Niche.

Your Signature isn't working. Once you put down some Keywords highlight them and then click the blue world symbol with the chain link below it and paste your link in the box that appears.

Don't just put the link in your signature use keywords you think people would search for.

Actually study how to do Keyword research and find some keywords to use.

Hey ChunkyNuts...

Another way to create free traffic to your website... is to continue what you 're already doing here, posting in forum(s) - this will get you some exposure depending on how active you are and also build many backlinks to your site.

As others have already stated article marketing - EzineArticles for example is also effective, if a little slow to get going

If you want fast traffic i.e. you want to test if a particular offer if likely to be profitable then you really need to consider setting up a Google Adwords account (very easy)...

This will bring you traffic within hours...BUT Warning! It can work out expensive if you go in blind... you will definitely want to spend a little time understanding how to best approach this method that said, it will bring you almost instant traffic...

I wish you every success

Hi, Stephen:

A question regarding forum composition: where do you see the "blue world symbol with the chain link below it" in the Warrior Forum?

Since the big WF changes earlier this year, I can find no place in the WF that gives you all of those post editing options (like the blue world symbol) like you see in other online forums. When I add features to my WF posts like italics, bold, underline, color, hypertext etc., I have to do it all manually (by typing in the code).

Am I missing a feature here in the WF that others can see? (Wouldn't be the first time I've been left in the dark! lol ) Please shed some light.

EUREKA!! I found it!

Oh, brother! After ALL THESE MONTHS of manually adding code, I just found the setting that lets me see the Text Editor! Can you believe that?

I had to hunt through my User CP to find it and turn it on, but now I have it!

Thanks for the inspiration and impetus to search for it, Stephen!

Guys, ive followed the steps
Articles, forums, pinging and free adds etc
My articles are not live yet they are waiting approval ??
Anyway im 12th on google uk which is a great start and my traffic today has been higher than any other day, i have really banged the hours in though and could sleep for a week.
Thanks again for all the advice great stuff guys. Ive got to get it automated quickly and then i can start thinking about setting my next venture.
Next up will be a special eating program which guarantees you to lose one stone in one week. Its great ive done it myself (twice) and it works a treat, ive also recently gave it to a few close friends and relatives to try and again great news, i dont know exactly how it works but i just know it works, so im thinking maybe i can do something with that. Does anybody know anything the weight loss niche?
Warm regards
