Hi,
I'd like to change my PIPS site from default to a new, fresh, clean, up-to-date layout for my PIPS site. I appreciate any suggestions on how to do it and where to get help etc. Can I use Wordpress as basis for the PIPS site? Can I build a completely new site, only keep the content (copy/paste), or will important coding get lost and links be broken? So far I have used Microsoft FrontPage to modify and put in new content and create new pages. Is there any better solutions? Thank you. |

Hello Kanute,
I also used Microsoft FrontPage to edit my pages and create a new look for my site. It's definitely very time consuming as I'm sure you found out. Yes, you can use Wordpress, and that is probably the best way to go. I would backup your site and then install Wordpress in the main directory of your site. It'll then be the home page and you can create pages from there adding content from the original PIPS site. That's what I would recommend. There are some PIPS members here that have done this, so hopefully they'll stop by and provide their input. Take Care, Alan |

Hi kanute,
I still have my pips site but have also set up a separate wordpress pips review site to which i have copied some of the content to as Alan suggested. Once you have chosen the right theme, the rest is easy and it is much easier to keep updated than the original html site. check it out if you like. Quick Start To Internet Marketing Graham |

Hi Alan and Graham,
Thanks a lot for advice and suggestions. I think I'll go for Wordpress, but I have no clue how to get a template customized like you have. Do you guys know about a service or something that can do it for me? Thanks again! |

Hi Kanute
Wordpress is a great choice for almost any kind of site. The one person around here who knows most about Wordpress and has setup many PIPs Wordpress sites is Jeff Houdyschell. He has installed and setup several sites for me and has my highest recommendation. His Links WordPress Max | WordPress Guides For The Geek Impaired WordPress Installation Service WordPress Powered PIPS A lot of people can install Wordpress but very few know how to set it up correctly. I designed my own theme with a program called artisteer ....easy to use after a bit of practise. I have a couple of other sites with similar themes I designed myself.....and I am no geek lol With wordpress, you can find many free themes to use and play around with to make it somewhat unique...you really need to get used to using wordpress for a while, ie changing themes adding plugins etc.....the more you do this the easier it becomes. I have a free ebook which might help I will pm the link to it. Graham | |
