Absolutely. Just go to WordPress › Blog Tool and Publishing Platform and download and install Wordpress on your site. You can use it as the home page of your site or as a sub-directory (ie. www.yoursite.com/blog).

Does anyone have step by step instructions to do this?
Would it be integrated into the PIPS blog and blend with the theme? Thanks Daniel |

Hi Guys,
I managed to get wordpress installed and it's now up and working, had some problems with no .htaccess file so the permalinks weren't working. My next question is, can you integrate the wordpress blog similar to stones method of integrating the blogger blog to make it look more professional so all the pages have the same template design. If so any instructions anywhere. Thanks Daniel |

As far as I know that isn't possible. The best you could do is find a free WP theme and modify it to make it close to the PIPS site, but even then it's not going to be identical, and it would take A LOT of extra work that should be spent writing blog posts.

Thanks Alan,
I dropped Darrin a message to see if his blog upgrade service does it, and if no joy with the integration thing then I'll just try and trudge through it manually. I've managed to get a web form on it now, so I'm getting there. But you're right I need to start blogging away, it's so easy to get distracted when you know in your head how you want things to be. |

Why do you think that the Wordpress blog is better for the pips?

Wordpress provides a lot more functionality and is better for SEO purposes (the structure, titles and other page variables). Simply put it is far superior to Blogger, and I highly recommend using it.

Its not as easy to create a WordPress theme to match a PIPS or any other existing site than it is with Blogger. Since Blogger basically creates the posts as an HTML page it is very easy to do from any blank HTML doc but WordPress uses.. well a different method to display the blog.
There is a very old PIPS WP theme floating around somewhere but its not widgetized, or very SEO friendly. I recall giving up on trying to fix it up a few years ago. I suggest going the other way anyway... find a Good WP theme and convert the whole site to WP so it all matches if that's what you want. But I wouldn't get caught up on if it matches or spend too much time on the "looks". The content matters more than anything and getting traffic. You start blogging good original content regularly with the proper setup blog and the traffic will come to the blog. And the visitors don't care if the blog matches the PIPS site you are trying to point them to. |

Yes. Just install the XML Sitemap Generator plugin for Wordpress. Once installed you won't have to do a single thing to it.
