Hi PIPSter Most of you will remember when I posted My Main Page is on google PAGE 2 after 3 months. You might see I stated that "within two month it must be on Google page 1!" So far it is still Page 2, position between 11 and 17. Oh my God! my competitors are so stronger than me in terms of their backlinks and the age of their domain. Ok this is beyond my control but I will fight for it. Sooner of later you will see my site on top 10. Better not predict exactly. NOW! unexpected thing is happening to my site. Google Page Rank to my site is PR 2 Please refer: Google PageRank Checker - Check Google page rank of any web pages my site: www.alpha-workfromhome.com This is after 6 moths of starting my online business with PIPS. I am not expect google will recognize my site that far but at least PR 1. wow.............. You may want to follow my footstep by reading My Main Page is on google PAGE 2 after 3 months. I would not worry too much about PR focus on ranking well for important keywords, it matters much more.

Page rank a recognization from google giving the site a boost to rank well for important keywords. If you do it right it has a better chance for important keywords to rank well on google soon. Another thing.... For the newer site it is save to optimize ONLY ONE Keyword phrase on your site. But now it does not matter you optimize two or three more keyword phrases on your site. That's the important matters of PR. Of course I am not focusing on PR but it happen unexpectedly. |

Wouldn't you deny the fact that your RP is the important matter. I don't think so. Because all home pages of your two site are on google first page for both keyword phrases which is in your "title"...am I right? Congrats again. It shows that your keyword optimization is correct. But I wonder why you still optimize only one keyword on your both sites. You have a chance to optimize more than one keyword phrases on "title" now. May be you focus more on "meta name" than "title." Will appreciate your feedback. | |

I think PR does help in certain way, may be bringing in visitors or making your site looks good, etc. It can also a kind of achievement too. |

Forget PR. It really means nothing in terms of traffic and placement in the SERP's. Example, I have a page Rank 3 site that gets almost no traffic. It is done in very clean CSS, great linking, the whole nine. But the traffic is terrible. But I have many PR 0's sites that get a lot of traffic. It makes no sense other then page rank means nothing in regards to traffic. I used to be so focused on PR, but now the only thing that matters is where my sites place for their keywords in Google's SERPS. I am working on 3 key words now for a site that is a PR 1. The keyword is very difficult. My site is placing number 3, 12, and 15 for each keyword. This is with a PR 1 site. And when I check the PR's of the other sites on page one, there are PR that range from 0-5 and in no real order. So my take on all of this is anchored keyword links from Dofollow links to raise your position on the SERPS. If a good PR comes along, great, but traffic and positioning should be your goal. |

This thread is all about Google page rank. I have never stated PR vs. Traffic. Of course PR has nothing to do with traffic. But Google has to do with PR. A recognization to a site from Google in order you to boost your business. Here is my stand point of view to be a successful website. A Successful website= Traffic and positioning(70%)+Look and content(20%)+PR(10%) For some of you PR is not a matter since your niche sites are less competitive. As for my site PR is a matter of 10% since the niche is very competitive. As I stated above my website's PR achievement is unexpected one as I have never thought and focused on it. But Thank You Google! You has recognized my site and given me a boost to my business. |

I hear ya. I just wish they never came up with page rank. Check out my Cincinnati Electrician site in my signature. No, BS, I was able to get a PR 3 in less then 6 weeks. Brand new site. Check out the whois if you dont beleive me. I just think PR is a waste. I have read on many other articles that the higher ups at Google regret making PR public and we should not be surprised if it goes away. Question to everyone. Does anyone really know why they call it "Page Rank" ? If you know anything about Google this is a no brainer. But I was surprised when I found out the reason behind the name. |
