What about cool places to visit and have some nice photos/videos of destinations - maybe one for 'ideal vacation spots' and another where people could share photos/videos of places they have been?

Some nice dirt might work too. Like I saw recently articles on filthy hotels that gave people bed bugs, and other stories - to warn them to not go there. You could have a 'Add your Nightmare Hotel/Motel'.

There are a number of affiliate programs that offer travel discounts to members and you could have a section for these maybe too. I know of 3, off-hand, one which I belong to that more than pay you back with the travel discounts as well as commissions for booking trips, hotels, etc.. Maybe you could have a section for things like this.

Maybe a shop to monetize it - like selling luggage and other stuff that travelers might be interested in.

With a forum, it's best to keep it simple at first with only one to three sections. They will look busier with fewer people whereas if you have a bunch of sections with few members, it's going to look like a ghost town.

As time goes on, you will see which topics need their own sections.
