With the recent changes to Blogger blogs you are probably wondering how this effects you. Well... there are two situations here. 1.) You already had your blog moved over to be hosted on your own site and now you can't add new posts to it anymore. That is true. You can't add any more new posts to it. HOWEVER... the old posts are still there, and they are still on your website. They can't take those away from you. Also, your blogger account is still active so you can always go back in and retrieve those posts and place them on a new blog that is on your server. 2.) You have not yet taken advantage of getting a blog on your existing PIP Site. Well you are in luck then. In fact, both situations are in luck. I have created a new service that will replace the old blogger self hosted blogs. I now have a service that will give you your very own WORDPRESS blog, completely hosted by you on your server. You won't be hindered by blogger or any other outside force ever again. Nothing and No One can do anything to effect your blog. Because it is ALL on your server. You can read the full details here: PIP Site Help: WordPress Blog Upgrade Service |

If I'm using the autoblog service from PIPS, will that work with the WP plugin, hosted on my site? Thanks, |

LisleScott, I am not familiar with the autoblog service, but I am going to assume that you belong to a service that e-mails articles directly to your blog and psts them. If that is the case, then YES it will work with the Wordpress Blog as well. You can set up an e-mail address (I assume you would use the same one you are currently using) and the posts will show up as usualy. I hope this helps. Darrin |

Hi Darrin! Hallelujah is right! Thanks for the new service! I'm just wondering if you can explain more how this would work for someone like me who has had a self-hosted Blogger blog for the past 4 years. When you go to my site, click on my blog link, it will take you to the blog link that I have posted all over the internet for the past 4 years now. http://www.mydomain.com/blog/ I do not want to lose that URL when switching over to say this WordPress blog. Is there a redirect to the new WP URL, or how would this work? Also, can you explain the Word Press MegaSite service you offer and how does that differ from the PIPS Megasite service that I once had installed on my site, and how does it relate to the WP Blog Upgrade service? Thank you! Liane |

I have been working with Stone over the last few days to get this service perfected. At this point the standard Wordpress Blog service will install a Wordpress Blog onto your PIP Site with a template that exactly matches that of the layout of your current PIP Site. It is installed into a directory named "articles" (it doesn't have to be installed into a directory named blog after all) and a link to it is on your home page as well as all of the pages of the new Wordpress blog. You can read about the service here: PIP Site Help: Upgrades You can see Stone's setup here: Home Business Blog I send you some instructions on how to access your new blog and how to make new posts into it. The Wordpress Mega Site is a service where I convert your entire site, including your home page, into a Wordpress blog. So any new posts you make will show up on your home page as new content as well as sent into archives and categories. The Mega Wordpress service also include the addition of pre-written articles by Stone and a few other well known Internet Marketers. Those articles are organized into categories so as to increase your SEO Optimization. I hope this help. |

Hi Darrin, So what you're saying is that I will have 2 blog URLs...one for http://www.mydomain.com/blog/ which I will no longer post to, and the new one: http://www.mydomain.com/articles ? Does the new WP Blog you will install have an articles archives like the current one, or is that only available if you get the WP Mega Site Upgrade? And also when you install the WP Blog Upgrade, will that overlay everything I already have on my current blog with the new template or will you be able to retain everything I've got there? And in order to make changes to my own blog layout after you've installed it, is it the same process, going into the HTML source code to make edits? Thanks again, Liane |

Hi everyone, I am currently using Blogger for 3 months. Because of the FTP shutdown, do I really had to shift it over to WP? Or continue blogging via blogger? I had did some research on how to create a FTP blog on WP. But now another thing is I can't seems to import my blogger blog to WP, WP say my blogger blog contains no post so nothing is transferred. So I have 2 idea in my mind now: 1) Create the post manually in WP by copying every post to WP. 2) Post one last post to my blog at blogger, telling visitor that it had been shifted to some other address's blog. * I think taking approach 2 is the fastest way but does this have any implications? Thanks for reading and I do need your comments. |

Hi everyone, my problem is finally solved with several trial and errors The fastest and easiest way to anyone who want to install a brand new Wordpress using HostGator's Cpanel is to go to: 1) Software/Services, Fantastico 2) Under Fantastico, you will find blogs, wordpress, new installation. 3) Enter the required details such as the name of your directory, password, etc. Then bookmark the login page as you will need the page to login everytime. To anyone who currently using blogger via FTP and want to transfer to wordpress: * Can't transfer any previous post from blogger to wordpress. 1) Go to your blogger, setting tab, publishing. 2) Revert back to publish to blogspot.com (not custom domain - FTP) 3) Login to your new wordpress account, at the left corner, there is tool, select import, then blogger 4) Login to your blogger account when prompt and authorize wordpress to access 5) Click the magic button, and import. You are done! Hope this helps |

Hello, I found this information on hostgator that maybe useful How can I transfer my Blogger site to HostGator hosting? HostGator.com Support Portal as of version 2.2 WordPress supports importing directly from your blogger account: Simply install WordPress from Fantastico in your cPanel. Then in your WordPress Admin area (domain.com/wp-admin), go to Manage → Import → Blogger and follow the directions to complete the import. Hope this helps! Awilda |

Some weeks ago i read a post in this section of the forum where a member talked about how he moved his blog to wordpress. I don't want to try anything yet since am not too sure of the repercussion. Below is the post he made after successfully moved his blog from blogger to wordpress. "The fastest and easiest way to anyone who want to install a brand new Wordpress using HostGator's Cpanel is to go to: 1) Software/Services, Fantastico 2) Under Fantastico, you will find blogs, wordpress, new installation. 3) Enter the required details such as the name of your directory, password, etc. Then bookmark the login page as you will need the page to login everytime. You are done!" Now, i want to know, if this process is completely free like blogger or it requires monthly fee. Secondly, will it be affecting my SEO? Thirdly, will the new blog at wordpress integrate with my site/blog or am i just moving the content at blogger to WP. Thanks. John Nigeria |

got part of the way throgh the process,, but my Blogger account indicates that it has been "disabled". The help screens do not really give a clear indication of why, just mainly state that it's due to violation of their Terms and Conditions?? Any ideas? Thanks, Stephen |

Write to them and ask what the violation is - might take a while for a reply - just be polite and say that you never intended to spam or do anything against their TOS. They usually give people another chance - but again it might take as long as 2 weeks. |

johnben1444, If you were using the default format http://www.yourdomain.com/blog/2010/04/title.html - you can change the wordpress links -> to go to settings -> permalinks -> select custom structure and copy this -> /%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%.html ->save changes. Awilda |

Hi John, your blogger will remain as it is unless you delete the files in your server. But the thing is can't blog, edit, make new post after 1 may, hence, there is no choice to open a new WP account. Hope it helps, Erica |
