Hi Russ, previously my domain is also bought from a third party, all I do is to point them at HostGator DNS.

This is the information that I found on the internet:

1) Login to your reg123
2) Click manage your domain, change name server, under both fields of name server, enter:

CHECK YOUR WELCOME LETTER FOR DNS:
For example only:

Your First Nameserver: ns2265.hostgator.com
Your Second Nameserver: ns2266.hostgator.com

3) Click change nameserver, you are done! This may takes 24 hours or longer to take effect.

Video tutorial
Change your DNS / Nameservers at 123-reg.co.uk

Hope this Helps,
Erica

Hi Erica

Thanks for the help, really i'm useless with computers, now i need to learn everything else about pips.

The main reason i joined was to have an Affiliate website with lots of company links but i dont know if this is possible.

Thanks again

Russ

One other thing, I notice that above the HostGator servers are identified. Not everyone one uses those servers.

For instance, my servers are something like NS123.HOSTGATOR.COM AND NS124 HOSTGATOR.COM.

Please check your information from Hostgator to verify you have the correct DNS information.

If you point your site to the wrong servers you will be waiting a LONG time for your site to propagate.

Good luck

Allen

Hi

I did what you said and my site appeared for a day and the dissapeared, it shows Hostgator 404 error.

At one point yesterday www.bargainfinder.me.uk would display two different sites, but now just the above, i'm lost here.

Working ok now thanks, i had put the wrong numbers in

Hi Russ, when you log into HG's cpanel, there is a information box stating your DNS information, that is the information.

The numbers are dissimilar, all user uses different type of numbers and names. The above ones are my own self HG's DNS example, sorry for any confusion or inconvenience caused.
