Hi All... I just read on one of my newsletters that Google is changing their algorithms. Which is going to change the way websites are going to get ranked. It has quite a few people upset, about possibly losing their page 1 rankings. Some people are suggesting that you mix your anchor texts. Other are saying to start working on getting your page ranked higher on Yahoo and Bing, and not worry where you rank on Google. Another person said to go to Google AdSense Sandbox and see what type of ad would be place on your website. Does anyone know what's going on here? And what we should be doing NOW for getting higher page ranks? I'm LOST!!! |

Get used to it chooch. That is what Google does best is change. They used to call it 'the dance' - quarterly they pull the rug out from under you - now they seem to do it as often as people change their clothes. Roll with the punches. Read Matt Cutt's blog mattcutts.com - that will keep you from being shanghied by every myth and 'old wives tale'. They have to change their algorhythms because if on Day 1 they say 'we like xxx' - Day 2 you will have 20000 gimmicks that do xxx - I have seen it over and over for 5 years. So one dance you will see they like something and the very next quarter you will get sandboxed for doing that same thing that last dance raised your PR. Ranking is not the end of the world - sure it feels good to watch the numbers rise - but most of the time it is irrelevant - just do your best, stay abreast of 'the latest' and don't get stressed out. They want real unique, valuable content - that is the one thing that doesn't change. |

Thanks Pat... Being a realize newbie to this stuff. I wasn't sure what to do. I'll just keep doing the things I'm doing now. And let the chips fall where they fall. Not much I can do about it anyway. |

Just keep doing what you're doing. Google changes all the time but quality content and backlinks are two things they have always loved and most likely always will.

Thanks Trent... Guess that's why I'm not getting many responses. Everyone has seen this before. This is my first time. So I was a little concerned. I'm over that now. |

I have never worried too much about page rank, I did at the beginning, but as others have said they change the algorithms quite often. Good keyword content will always prevail and I am talking about white hat techniques not black hat which will end up producing bad results, which is sometime the reason for Google to change their rules .
