Hi Gary,
What do you mean by clone database? Do you want to move your website to different domain or do you want to change server?

As DB probably you are using a MySQL, Your server provider should have some option to do backup of data base - export and safe to file. After you make a backup then go to your new server, create database and import exported DB. After import file probably you have to adjust some setting depend from what type of website you exporting. for example Wordpress Blog store in option table information about website link, and path to upload file those values need to be change.

Post here more details what do you want to do then I can help you.

As far as my knowledge what people do is they develop a site and run it for a couple of months and add a good amount of users in it ( say 10K users ) . Then they put the website for sale ( say 20 copies ) . So each person buying will get a ready made site with registered users in DB . The same also applies for data in the DB .

If you just want to make a copy of your database, the best would be to export it with phpmyadmin to your computer. Dont fully understand your question though.

ixdownload.com offers reviews of the best internet security and lets anyone get online computer support.
