I call it 'pouring money down the black hole'. I firmly believe the only way to get quality leads is by opt-in forms, lead capture pages or portal marketing.

I have paid from 1 cent to 2 dollars per lead with the same results - when you call, they are like 'who?', when you write it is dead silence.

Many will disagree and and I am sure some have gotten some response and even sales. However, per ratio I don't think it is a good investment unless you have lots of money - then of course do all you can including buy leads.

Hey Jason,

My experience was very poor with purchasing leads. I bought over 200 leads with no results. It's a lot of work for not very good results.

Cheers

Hi,

I have only found 1 company that does a really nice job with leads in my 10 years of experience...you can have success but you must have things set up properly from the company, to the follow up letters, to the type of lead...

The company that I have used in the past as outstanding coaching program where they walk you through how to follow up via email and the phone...

Take care

I have purchased MLM leads with minimal success. You get a lot of people who are not interested even though they fill out the lead capture form. Basically they are just looking to see what is offered with no intention of buying in. A lot of lookers and no buyers.

To have success you have to build your own lead list and your own signups to your different opportunities. Relying on someone else to do it will lead to a lot of disappointment in my experience.

If you spend the same money on advertising that you intended for leads you would have much better success.

I used to work 30, 60, and 90 day leads on the phone for a MLM program called Retire Quickly. There was always a few diamonds in the rough, but it was a real numbers game.

Today with how quickly things move online, unless you are getting fresh leads, buying older ones is a tough way to go. I do know working leads on the phone is better than throwing them in an autoresponder unless you are generating them yourself.

Yeah, phone works better. They get that personal feeling. sSending them emails, even though you have written them yourself, they felt that it's sent out automatically.

Unless you have a special way to convert these leads, purchasing them will give you little results.

half of my active subscribers list are from purchased lead, I some how feel more excited when new subscriber coming from my website opt-in form. Whatever it is, no matter where or how they came from, they are all my baby.....for a newbie like us, it is better to have some subscribers to kick start and work with, sort of motivation I guess. I think when our website generate sufficient list over the time, we properly wouldn't need lead purchased anymore.

I have purchased leads recently. I agree that it can be a a needle in a haystack situation but out of 70 leads i had 2 signups, and im still new and havent learn all there is to learn yet, so i dare say the more you know, the better chance you have of getting one of those leads to sign up...i honestly like buying leads at the moment...whilst im getting my site up the rankings.

Cheers
Tom

I’m a Newbie but I quickly learn that buying mlm based leads don’t work. But some still believe that it could work base on other factors. But even if others reported they have some success with it, if I do the math; I’ll just throw it out of my way.

I buy MLM leads every week, and it can work well if you have a system. First you offer them something free like an ebook or report related to your product. My system converts an average 8% in my autoresponder. You must be compliant with anti-spam laws, but otherwise don't use double optin or you will lose 90% or more of the leads.

I agree with pouring money down the drain.

You dont know how fresh those leads are and if those leads have been already sold many times over.

Jeff, that seems a little misleading. Having used a dozen (12) MLM lead companies there is no "right one" for affiliate marketing. All of these companies use a generic lead capture page that gets the interest of people looking for a home based business. What they do not do is highly target any one area or program. Worse yet they do not sell the individual marketer. The vast majority of leads are simply tire kickers wanting to see what it is about and they have no motivation to join and pay for a program. Free works but there is no commitment needed.

Most people who have been marketing online for any amount of time will agree that the only way to bring people in and to buiuld a solid business is to sell yourself. If you can do that and if you can build trust people will pay because they are sold on you. They will trust what you the individual have to offer because they trust you. If all you are doing is collecting names and free signups or throwing people into an autoresponder you will not make money.

Our PIPs sales page is a prime example. Stone Evans sells himself very soundly and we buy because we can relate to him and he has built our trust. The same with getting free signups and leads. If we sell ourselves on a good landing page that has our picture on it and then send the lead/person to a sales page that sells ourselves the same as Stone Evans has sold himself we can build a business on a firm foundation.

I've tried almost every kind of lead you can buy and nothing works as profitably as getting the leads myself. I can start building their trust from the minute they make their first click on one of my ads until the minute they buy in. It beats the heck out of any MLM leads you can buy and it cost less.

Hi,

I would disagree. In most cases what you say is accurate that the best leads are the ones you generate. I am not debating that here. I had success with 1 company (no I am not currently an affiliate). I also have tried 10 or so different companies. The one company which I was successful at with their leads and gained valuable knowledge used an entirely different approach to "working" those leads.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Indivualized Success Plan is more than just another course, DVD, seminar or book...

Individualized For You based on your specific skills, experience, strengths, weaknesses and goals.

A Full 90 Day Program which includes specific training lectures, live programs, audio and video sessions from our proven training archive.

No Fluff or Gimmicks to drain your budget.

Learn Specific Skills & Techniques to overcome your marketing, prospecting and/or leadership challenges.

Over 25,000 Minutes of Exclusive Audio & Video training programs in our library. (That’s over 15 solid days, 500+ titles - the largest most proven resource for network marketers anywhere!)

Live Phone Support from your own trained Personal Success Advisor.
24 x 7 Online Support to learn from leaders and engage with experts.

These are just some of the things that a good company can offer you.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

This company doesnt teach you to throw your leads into an autoresponder and do nothing. They will come up with an overall game plan with your coach to increase your odds at being successful...

Most companies I have used I agree with your point. However thats not all companies as I have done it, worked it, trained for it, and been successful at it. Anyone can do it.....you just have to have the right plan, company, and processes in place to guarantee your success....

Even if you generate your own leads, if you dont follow up with them properly (not just an autoresponder and forget about them) it wont make a bit of difference in your success rate

For example......I have joined several ezines over the years and some people dont even send out good information. One person I hear from once a week "selling" me something. Thats not the right approach.

In closing.....there is more to following up with a lead then just "capturing" them in your autoresponder. There is an entire right way to work your lead (whether you generated them yourself or through a leads company) and a wrong way.

Take care
Jeff Casmer
