Arrow Bing rankings - what's up???

hey Warriors....

Has anyone seen their Bing rankings disappear? Last week I was ranked #10 on Bing for one of my keywords......this week I'm not in the top 250.

I know Yahoo is suppose to be doing some test with Bing. I was just wondering if anyone else was seeing the same thing?

Wish I knew what was going to happen when they finally do merge!!!

Thanks in advance.....

I have not noticed any discernible difference. But my experience has been that Bing is much slower to index than Google.

Yep, about 2 weeks ago, all my sites dropped off Bing completely. I noticed a couple of days ago they have started coming back, but nowhere near where they were. I had one site that was at #1 and getting good traffic, now at #29 and getting nothing!

For some reason I've never had much luck with Bing. Several of my keywords rank very well with Google and I get decent traffic from them. I'm on page one number 2 on my main keyword

Those same keywords are no were to be found on Bing. The best I rank for any key word is page 2.

So I'm not sure how Bing ranks the sites, maybe after they do what ever it is they are doing my sites will move.

John

I couldn't get how Bing ranks sites either.
I'm somewhere on top on Bing for "wordpress membership site" and "wordpress membership plugin" and that makes Bing to bring me between 2-4% of my traffic.
I'd let it to grow up a bit before spending too much time into tweaking stuff for them.

I gave up on Bing a long time ago. I can have top position rankings in both Yahoo and Google and not even be on Bing's radar anywhere. So phooey on Bing.

You may want to make sure you have no errors that would stop the robot from spidering your pages.

From what I have read, if the robot comes upon a link that they can't spider, they don't try and spider the rest of the site... the spider just moves on in it's internet journey.

You may want to follow the link below and check your site for HTML validation errors:

[Invalid] Markup Validation of http://www.ecigbestsave.com/ - W3C Markup Validator

This will show you all your HTML errors and you can then go in and fix them.

Not a guarantee this will help, but, it sure can't hurt.

By correcting your HTML issues, the other search engines will probably give your site some additional love because you have removed some barriers for their spiders.

I don't get Bing either! I've been in the Internet Marketing and SEO game for years now and I still haven't figured out how to improve Bing rankings the way I can with Google.

To be honest, I don't think they know either.

Yahoo published a short post on their blog and told people to do just that,

Quote:
1. Review your organic search rankings on Yahoo! Search for the keywords that work best for you and note any differences in your rank, now that the results are being powered by Bing.
2. Decide if you’d like to modify your paid search campaigns to compensate for any changes in organic referrals that you anticipate.
3. Review the Bing webmaster tools and optimize your website for the Microsoft platform crawler, as Bing listings will be displayed for approximately 30% of search queries after this change, according to comScore.
They just had to throw #2 in there!!

Well...since the merge...I've fallen out of the rankings. Nothing has showed up. I had keywords on page one on Yahoo and Bing ... now nothing.

I was getting some traffic for Yahoo and a little from Bing. I hope they get it straighten out soon.
