Default How to shorten post on homepage

Hey guys does anyone know of a good plugin that will automatically shorten your post on the homepage... The problem I run into is my entire blog posts are on the homepage, and I'm looking for an exert of the post with a link that says "click here to learn more" or something like that. Something like a teaser post to link to the actually long post if that's possible...

Also that will be more SEO friendly since right now it is duplicate content.

If you know how I can get this done, please explain in detail. Thank you.

Hi,

I've been using this one for quite some time now: Homepage Excerpts Wordpress Plugin.

It was developed by Daniel Scocco and has many different options to fit your needs and wants. It's SEO friendly as well.

You don't need a plugin - just use the 'More' tag, which you'll find as a button in the tool bar in the Visual view.

Cheers,

Martin.

That's one way of doing it, but I find the plug-in to be much more convenient for many reasons. You don't have to worry about remembering to add the "more" tag in your posts. The plug-in takes care of every post automatically for you, which is handy if you have 100 posts already written. You can specify how many characters to cut the posts down to for the excerpt, plus many other options that will benefit your blog in many ways, including for SEO.

I use the Evermore plugin on all blogs that I create. It will automatically truncate posts which do not have the more tag and it will use the more tag if you utilize it.
