I am writing because there has been alot going on here at the Pips forum to do with WP blogs! It is extremely important for all of us to have a blog - I dont know about Blogger at all - but Im learning about wordpress! I am finding that wp is really easy to post on and that my articles are indexed almost immediately and this is great for traffic! Matt has helped out some Pipsters by installing wp for them to get them up and running and this is great! For those of you who have been here a while - you will know that I hated the idea of blogging at first - but now I love the benefits! The only problem for me is Im sssoooooooo not a techie person! I can write the articles and I have now learned enough to put banners and widgets and links on etc. But what do you do when you have a real problem???? Well - everybody should head to our fellow Pipsters site - WordPress Max|WordPress Guides For The Geek Impaired Jeff Houdyschell has been absolutely invaluable to me. Firstly he fixed up my mmo blog and then pimped it right out! Since then he has helped me get it sorted a couple of times when I stuffed it up! I have used his wordpress max site for heaps of info once I was getting a bit more savy because he has lots of articles and guides so you can try it yourself - even bigger bonus is he can fix it when you wreck it! (if youre like me you will....lol) I now love wp so much that my new site is completely run by wordpress - its just so versatile! But what happens when you cant fix a problem????? Well I just noticed yesterday that my archive pages went to a 501 internal error page - whatever that means??? and once I started looking around I found a couple of other problems aswell! Keep in mind that I set my new site up myself! (and am very proud of it) Well.........Houdy to the rescue! Jeff has already fixed the corrupt theme files (???? yeap - I know about that - NOT!) and made my optin box look how it should he has resized some stuff and given me great instructions on how to backup my blog (have you backed up your blog????) and in return all he wanted was a beer! I just have to say that everyone should be blogging but you know that! - dont be scared like I was and have a go - if you stuff it - youve learned something and dont worry - Houdy will fix it! I would sincerely like to thank Houdy for his ongoing help and support - he makes me feel more confident and ready to attack the challenge! I hope Houdy reads this - Thanks Buddy - thanks alot! Kym |

I totally agree! Jeff does a fantastic job, and he is always willing to help and slave for hours to fix a technical problem. Thank you, Jeff, and thank you, Kym, for posting this. Another thank you to Matt Helphrey for installing WP blogs for people who need them for free. What a great group of people we have here in this forum. Alan |
