If it's ok to post this here, this is something I would like to share with you all, I play guitar, sing and write songs as a hobby. I wrote the words, and sing this song to the melody of "Sweet Home Alabama" for those of you who are musically inclined, I hope you like it.

HOPE

No one thought you could make it
No one thought you had a chance
Against the odds you beat the Clintons
left Bill and Hillary in a trance
Now the Democrat's, they had their nominee
The Republican Party, had theirs too
The race was on for the Oval Office
They picked their colour, red or blue

Oh Oh Barack Obama, No one thought that you could win
But you became the first black President
The first black man to get in

The campaign you fought was a real blinder
My Space, U-Tube, and the "Internet"
Accepting big and small, donations
Spent all the money you could get
Now John McCain, he got nervous
Called Sarah Palin on the phone (yes he did)
He said, get your ass down from Alaska
I need your help to get me home (and she said)
Who is this guy Barack Obama
Is he a man or a moose?
Don't want no black man for our President
No, no black man in the White House

Oh Oh Barack Obama, prejudice is such a sin (oh yes it is)
You said, judge men by the content of their character
Not by the colour of their skin
Oh Oh Barack Obama, Like Doctor Martin Luther King
You have a dream, a new day's dawning
The people cry, the people sing

Oh Oh Barack Obama, You are an inspiration to us all
We witnessed history in the making
Like the fall of the Berlin Wall
Like Neil Armstrong, and the Moon Landing
It's one giant leap for mankind (yes it is)
Yes it's been a long time coming
Oh how can we be so blind

Oh Oh Barack Obama, though troubled times lie ahead
Together we will face the future
The American dream, it is not dead
The bad Bush years, we'll leave behind us
A wave of change is in the air
Across the World and in all Nations
Obama's magic's everywhere

Oh Oh Barack Obama, no one thought that you could win
But you became the first black President
The first black man to get in
Oh Oh Barack Obama, the skinny kid with the funny name
Yes, you became the first black President
Now things will never be the same
Oh Oh Barack Obama, no one thought we'd see the day
When a black man would be the President
In the good Ole, USA. From Martin Byrne
