As posted in my other post: And the learning curve continues....I switched to HostGator and now my new blog doesn't work/I have no access to it. Let's hope Host4Profit is going to be able to help me out without having lost 6 months worth of posts, my template, and all my changes! To add to this: I thought if I had a self-hosted WP Blog that when I transferred to HostGator all my blog and archives, etc. would be transferred automatically to the new host? Thanks |

When you transferred, I would presume that all your files went with you to your new host. Look at your new domain and is there an 'articles' folder as I see that is the folder your Blog link on your website homepage leads to? Your WordPress code and your theme should be inside the folder. Have you set up your database? If the folder is there - All you should have to do to get your blog to work - I think - is make a MySQL database and link the database to you blog folder. Once you do that, take the database backup you have from when you transferred from H4P to HG and upload it to your new MySQL database using 'phpMyAdmin'. Also, inside your admin panel - if you can access it - make sure that the path to your blog is set up correctly in the "general settings" area. The Site URL should be: http://www.yourdomain.com/articles/ Before you left Host4Profit, did you do a back up of your whole site? If so, your blog files and everything should be intact inside your back up just in case they didn't all get transferred to HostGator. If the above doesn't help, I'll be glad to see what you have right now and see what can be done to get your blog and all your posts back up. PM me if you wish and we can discuss this. Allen, and Pat, just a note to let you know that my blog/host issue has been resolved by the amazing Darrin M.! He installed Wordpress on my new host, backed up my database from Host4profit, imported it into the new installation on Hostgator, and updated my WordPress template so it better organizes my archives! All at no extra cost to me! What a guy!  Thanks so much for your continued help, direction, and support.
