Hey Team,

I need to edit a header in a word press theme & i cant get file zilla to connect to my website.

I must be doing something wrong- please help

Basically i open up file zilla, click on add new site, put my domain name in, i chose normal, username not sure? password not sure?

I cant get it to connect, is it the password i use to login into the wordpress login area for that domain?

Can the header be modified actually in the word press dashboard?

Please help if you can

Yeah you can edit your header from your wordpress admin control panel. in the panel click on appearance and go to editor, then on the right hand side you will see the different areas of your site you can edit.
My advice is to copy the whole code and save it as back up before changing anything incase it doesn't all go to plan.
Also once you have finished editing check your site in different browsers such as IE and Firefox.

Hey Chunkynuts,

The username and password needed in FileZilla are the same that you use to log in to your web server, not Wordpress. So, whatever log-in credentials you use to log in to your HostGator cpanel, that's what you use there. From there it's just a matter of uploading the new header to the location you want on the server. Then, as Alan pointed out, go into your Wordpress files and just change the filename to the newly uploaded file.
