Hi Everyone, I am new to the forum. I am thinking about blogging for one of my marketing strategies. How often should you post a blog on your website. Dianne

The more the better. As often as possible. It can be anything from daily to weekly to monthly. |

I was posting daily for 6 months ( give or take ) and have only recently dropped back to 3-4 times per week sometimes less( its summer downunder ) By posting daily my blog got indexed very quickly by google and brings in some good longtail keywords. |

Hello: I post to my main blog at least every two days. My goal is to do it daily for the reasons mentioned by others in this thread. Blogging is a vital part of Internet marketing, so the more you can do it, the better. GT |

Do it often, but you don't need to overdo it. Meaning you don't need 5 posts per day. Once per day or even just a few times per week is fine. Quality is better than quantity.

blogging is a really good way to get indexed fast especially for a new site! make sure that your blog pings automatically I hated the idea of blogging at first but the bosses at the PPG insisted and Im so glad they did! I have seen a substantial increase in traffic. I blog every day to one site and 3-4 times a week to the other! I agree that quality is essential but the big G loves freshness and the more days out of a week that you post - the better. Mal Keenan has a great report on how to get the best out of your blog posts - find him in this forum! Good Luck - Kym |

Blogging frequency is important, but more importantly is doing it correctly, posting good unique content and with the best possible and optimized blogging platform.

Of course the more the better, although it depends on how much time you can allocate to blogging as there are other priorities too. But quality is better than quantity. It's better to have one quality post than 5 mediocre ones. Also don't get too hung up on setting a goal like one post per day. I've known a blogger who does that and 50 posts later deleted 40 of them as many had been badly written. A quality post is not just for the search engines. It is just as important (if not more) to think of your readers who are reading your posts. (you do want them to come back again to your blog after reading the first don't you?). So do include stuff that only humans can appreciate too like bold text on headlines, readable font sizes, a little graphic or picture, or cultivate a good friendly writing style that can attract more readers. You should post as often as you can. The more often the better. I think the most important thing though is to be consistent. If you establish that you're going to post daily then never post less than once a day, or week or month even. You can always post more, but should never post less than your readers expect you too. |
