Everyone, here is my weekly Link Love No. 4 and hope you read some of the excellent posts I've come across during the week. I especially like the one from Problogger called "13 Ways to Add New Dimensions to Your Next Post" where he shares what is needed to add more dept to your post and make it useful to your readers, among other things. It's a must read if you blog. Link Love No. 4 Also in my same post the link to my first blog contest is included. So far I've had zero participation here so do check it out when you got some time. I appeal to your support for 3 members here including 2 sponsors from WF. (GT and Lily Boynton). Afterall since everyone does blog commenting, just comment on my blog or my sponsors' blogs plus subscribe to my blog. That's all there is to be eligible. Hey fellow members, Although PIP help and training urge us to use wordpress as the best means of getting traffic to our sites because search engines see bogs quicker than sites because the blogs are constantly "updated with content" and your wordpress blog is on your PIP site === more traffic to your site. I have an off the wall opinion that Google is very partial to ranking a "Blogspot" blog quicker and higher than a Wordpress blog just for the simple fact that Blogspot is a fundamental piece of the Google empire. I have put my PIP sign up option on the upper right of my Blogspot blog, titled the blog: Affiliate Internet Marketing Business Promotion Online (same as my PIP site). The name of the blog is Hummers Blog ( the names, Sbhummer, Sbhummer4u, and Hummers Blog are trade names which will be explained in a later post),,which to my amazement have produced significant search results for the keywords such as affiliat marketing promotion online and from Hummers blog (I presume vehicle owners). Ramiro and Willy you have both been added. After this I am going to add Blogs but not comment that they have been added until the end of the day, my days end that is. I will add them but not comment or this thread could get real long with my comments. So give it a couple hours and you should be posted. That brings me around to this. I have added quite a few Blogs but I don't see many comments. I haven't counted them but each blog has the ability to give each member a backlink. Blog commenting is a primary focus for link building for a lot of experienced marketers because it's relatively easy to do. Comment on 100 blogs a week and that is 5200 backlinks in a year. That's a lot of backlinks. If you combine it without other link building methods you can get very far ahead in a short time. Here's a tip. When commenting on a WordPress Blog it is OK to use your keywords in the name field. I often make my name "Small Business Ideas". Then when you are done commenting always sign it with a thank you or some such wording and put your name below it. This is commonly acceptable awith blog owners. example: Thank You Stephen Meyer Also try and address the Blog owner or post author by name when starting to comment. Be specific in your comments and on point. Don't just say "I really like your blog". Add a little content to your comments. So start commenting and building popularity while helping each other build a higer PR blog. Hope that helps a little. Steve |

Also remember that you should make your blog a "DoFollow" blog if possible so the people commenting benefit from actually having their links followed. You will get more comments this way and you will also be helping out your fellow PIPSters a lot more by giving them some link juice. By default most blogging platforms are "NoFollow" so you have to make an effort to change them to "DoFollow." Installing a DoFollow plugin on Wordpress is very easy to do. I believe there is also a way to make Blogger (blogspot) blogs DoFollow but I am not sure how. If you have a blogger blog that you ftp to your own website then I don't think you can do it. One of my main blogs is like this and I tried to find how to do it once but couldn't figure it out. |
