I'm full of questions tonight..ha..ha.. I read somewhere it is good to be in link directories...some are free, others pay. Yahoo is $299 per year. Yikes! But what I read said Yahoo is a must if you can. Any advice here? Is this a necessity to improve PR and SEO? Does it make any difference in traffic? thanks! |

Hi, It really wont influence traffic directly from the link but the "backlinks" you get from being listed will help your overall search engine rankings for your site.... As for paying Yahoo......I have over 25,000 backlinks in Yahoo...and I didnt pay yahoo a dime.... Take care Jeff Casmer |

The only way I would pay to have a link placed ina directory would if the directory was directly related to the PIPs program. But, our type of affiliate business doesn't really have any directories. The individual programs may but you would have to search for them. The Yahoo directory is a high PR directory and there is some value in paying to be included but not enough for me. If you had a highly specialized Niche site it could be worth it. Directories are a bit tough to get listed in. I get emails now from directories I submitted to 5-6 months ago. Few accept my link and most reject it. Many will turn down your request because they see PIPs as a MLM program. So, when it comes to value for your effort it would be best to submit articles for both backlinks and targeted visitors to the high PR Article Directories. Steve |

I wouldn't pay a cent. Google doesn't really give any relevancy to directories anymore, as far as Yahoo and Dmoz anyway. Just submit to as many free directories as possible for the backlinks. Alan |

I wouldn't pay to be included in a link directory. It doesn't worth the money, even if it one cent. Submit to many link directories, and aim to the ones with higher PR. Tanny |

You guys just saved me a lot of money . I have been submitting a lot of articles and blogging but was wondering if any of those other things were worth doing to try and get up and running fast. Thanks.

I would agree... stay away from paying for links and just get them the natural way.
