Here you go. You are right IM is at some point very difficult to start with but once it is on its foot your business will be like bps gulf of Mexico oil leak, it will pore money after money since you have done the ground work properly. What it takes to be one of a success over IM is to be able to learn and to have a sense of direction and consistency on what you do. The rest will come all by its own.

The one thing you CAN NOT rely on is FREE advertising. You need to find effective ways to advertise your site for a fee and find out which strategies work and which ones don't. It is as simple as that.

Just jumping in here with my 2 cents ....

This isn't actually the right question.

What works best in someone else's experience is irrelevant.

The question for us all to be asking is:

"Based on my own experience, backed up with solid tracking of my own results, which advertising methods, resources, locations, copy, headlines, calls to action, etc... are producing my results?"

And the only way to come up with that answer is:

1) Run your ads.
2) TRACK your results.
3) Make changes and TRACK some more.
4) Keep up with your results.
5) Repeat those methods that generate results.
6) Drop methods, sources, headlines, copy, calls to action that do not work.
7) Repeat steps 1 through 6.

Everyone in this thread has great ideas and no one is wrong from what I read....

1) Tracking: Its very important to track your results whether its through free or paid advertising. THis way your time and money are not spent on things that dont work.

2) Passion: Passion is crucial to your success. Without determinaton, hard work, and a passion for what your doing then success becomes more difficult.

3) Free/Paid Advertising: Both I think are necessary to some degree. When I first started online I started with SFI and didnt even upgrade. What I did was utilize the excellent training SFI provides to learn, read, learn some more....unti I gained the knowledge to make good business decisions...

I want to add how important it is to focus and not jump from program to program. In real estate, they say location, location, location. For online marketing I think it is focus, focus focus.

Not true - back linking is free - blogging and article marketing and Web2.0 posting - all free.

All effective once you build enough back links to your website and have effectively used SEO principles on your site and your copy.

Just stick to this forum and start learning, first try things for free and after you earned something invest it and earn more..
