Website thoughts....

Hello Pipsters!!!

I got a question for you guys and gals who have been in the program awhile.
I was going to order Suzanne's update service when i stumbled onto her main site and few other's. I noticed that these folks websites are totally different. so my question is this should i get away from the classic pip website and hire someone to really customize it. Just go with the update and customize after I've been in awhile.

Hi,

I would say "yes" and "no".

Yes you should customize it because no one has been successful with PIPS WITHOUT making changes to your website...

You must make it Unique to take advantage of the serach engines and traffic....

"No" you shouldnt hire someone to do it unless they are going to be dirt cheap. I would learn to make subtle changes on your own while your training....

Good luck with your business!

Take care

Hi,

I would definitely take Jeff's advice and don't pay anyone to change your site unless you know someone that can help you.

You may want to think about learning some basic HTML on your own and make some slight adjustments to your site yourself. If you are a beginner, learning HTML can be intimidating but once you learn some of the basics you will become a pro in no time.

I would suggest focusing on changing the content or text at this point. Making your site look COMPLETELY different isn't as important as getting traffic to your site. Search engines are only interested in the content on your site and the links pointing back to it.

When it comes time for you to make some changes aesthetically there are three places to check out:

1) Darrin McLaughlin over at PIP Site Help has an excellent video series to help you with making some basic changes. He charges a small fee for access to the vids but it's worth it.
PIP Site Help: Home

2) Also, I would look into Jeff Houdyschell's Wordpress service to make your site look different. He also charges a small fee. Again, well worth it.
WordPress Powered PIPS

3) You can also use a website editor such as NVU to make some changes. NVU is mentioned in your 30 Days guide but I can't remember where

Good luck,

Steve

I agree with Jeff. You HAVE to make your site unique and really stand out.

You should really learn how to do it yourself. Learn some HTML. Grab a free HTML editor and play around with things. That's one of the easiest ways to learn.

Also, Steve's advice on getting a WP PIPS site is a good one. Either way, your site will be unique, and that is a must!

Regards,

Alan

With a WordPress site very little HTML or on page SEO knowledge is needed. The main page and all other pages and blog posts SEO is taken care of with a plugin. You simply add the keyword terms and descriptions in the dashboard so you don't need to know where to add it like on a static HTML site.

Adding or editing the content on pages is done with a built-in WYSIWYG editor, again not much HTML knowledge needed.

Yes, changing your website to a unique style is a necessity. It depends how confident you are doing this yourself? I found Suzanne Morrison's services for SEO very good and reasonably priced. There are other services available in Pips Power Group which is also a good private forum.

Yes, you should order from Suzanne's update service, from there you can gain knowldge because she will not only apply SEO on your website but she will teach you how. Learn html and you will have more advantage over others. Each website has to be unique in its features and content. Even if you don't have any experience the good news is it can be learned. There are free html editor that you can find in the web. It's a part of the learning process.

To your success,
