I just thought I would share my good news with all you pipsters srtuggling to get to page 1 on google.

As of today, my blog has achieved the what always seemed distant, page 1 position for my keywords Make this your home business. How long for I don't know, but it is there at the moment and I am seeing a surge in traffic as a result.

Now this bit should encourage all of you, to get to page 1 has cost me nothing but time and effort writing articles, blogging, forum posting, social bookmarking. So unless you are in a desperate hurry to get your site to page 1 for your keywords, I would encourage anyone to persevere with their blogs in particular and as long as you optimize your keywords properly, you will also achieve the results.

It is worthing noting here and some of you may remember, that I managed page 1 once before, with some keywords which were as it turned out pretty useless so had to start over. So do your research and choose your keywords wisely. You will eventually see results.

Congrats Graham. I'm sure you're now motivated to get more of your other keyword phrases to page 1 too. I don't think we should be in any hurry to get to page 1, otherwise it can really demotivate us when we don't see quick results. After all, you're in this business for keeps and SEO is a long term process.

Because I just found in someone article that claim by writing your website address will improve your SOE. Is it true?

Either one actually. But, using your keywords will help you rank much better for those keywords in the search engines. So, if you want page one listings in Google for a particular keyword phrase, use those that keyword phrase.

Not sure where you heard that from. In terms of SEO, a keyword will always do better than just using the website address. Of course, that keyword phrase should be linking to whatever web page you want to rank well for that term.

And for anyone who is going for a competitive phrase on your home page, you will have to have patience and build regular backlinks to see results, but in the meantime you can also get some quicker results by

- blogging regularly
- picking a different low competition/low volume keyword phrase for each blog post and putting that phrase in your blog post title and a couple of tims throughout your blog post
- social bookmarking each blog post
- building some backlinks to your blog (article marketing, blog directory submission, commenting on other blogs)

Even if you write a blog post on a keyword phrase that only gets a few searches per day, think about the power of this if you are blogging a few times a week using a different keyword phrase each time.
