Hi,
I join in January.
A few more days to celebrate my first 30 days in PIPS
I look at your site.
Almost the same.

If you prefer the new look where I think better than the 2010 version, just ask Patrician.

She will do her very best to update your website no more than 48 hours.

If you have the old style of the PIPS website and have made changes to it....you will loose all the changes you made if you switch to the new style (WordPress).

Will I lose all my pages I've added or just my PIP's home page?

The way I understand it.....yes you would. Patricia said I would loose any changes I have made to my website.

Ask Patricia what she thinks. She would know for sure.

What do you mean by pages? Files in your file manager under the same domain as your website?

We are only changing the home page - it shouldn't affect any other pages.

You can also add pages in Wordpress.

Here's a look at my new PIPS BLOG Website. This is my own creation, not Stone's current version.

It's still in the BETA Stage, but, coming along quite well I believe. None of the product pages has active links, only about 15 of the 100+ articles are active.

But, as i said, it's a work in progress. Should be ready in a few more weeks.

Totally 100% wordpress.

I believe WP is the best content management system out there right now. But, it's not the only one. Joomla is another top CM system that creates very nice sites using templaes much like WP but offers a broader scope of front page design. Unfortunately it has a steep learning curve.

What WP does is makes it easier to add new content and with the use of plug-ins and widgets monetizing a site becomes very simple. But, in my opinion, a person who is familiar with creating static html sites and knows how to use (and owns) a good web editor can do very well and can rank in the SE's just as easily as anyone else. Plus they have a lot more control over their site design. In some of my Niche I use Photoshop and NVU (soon to be Dreamweaver) to create the sites and they look far better in my opinion plus they rank very highly. The key to PR comes down to Keyword Optimized content, Advertising methods, and backlinks. Those things can be done with any site.

Allen, that's a nice looking site. I like the roomyness (< probably not a word)

Yes - personally I think Joomla creates the most beautiful sites - but it is a lot harder to use than is purported.

Wordpress is half-way decent to learn and use, and it is the perfect way to have fresh content on your home page - every time you post to the blog.

I have 2 Wordpress enabled websites (on my domains) for a few years now - and 2 others on Wordpress that are sites with linked /blogs

The new PIPS sites are better - they are WEBSITES embedded with a homepage blog - whereas mine are like blogs with banners etc (monetized blogs)
