Whose bright idea was it to basically delete the whole Warrior Forum? I cant believe, on my rrival today, there is nothing! Its all gone! I think the excellent information that was previously here will be sadly missed - certainly by me! This was THE place to come to when you were looking for information and now its all gone! I wonder how long it will take to repopulate the forum with all that wonderful info??? maybe it is lost forever??? Im just wondering if the programmer has heard of backup? Does anyoe know why the upgrade was done like this? This was not a good decision. Grumpy Kym! |

I am sure everyone agrees with you Kym. They have tried for 2 weeks to figure out how to port the history and it couldn't be done. As you see I have done with some of our favorites, we are linking to the old forum to see the previous info. You can still log in there and read - you just can't post there anymore. 'Nothing constant except change'. |

I wonder if it might be a good idea to make a Sticky linking to the old PIPs forum? At least for a couple weeks. It might help members find questions they had asked.

Yep, the old forum's still there. Kinda "archived". I still go there for information while the new forum's building up it's own database of information! Don't fret - the Warrior Forum's most important thing is not just the information but the people that are here to offer help and assistance =D |

People, including me, are resistant to change. I wish we didn't lose our history, but I believe all of the new bells and whistles we have here will make up for that 'empty' feeling we all have right now. At any rate there is nothing we can do about it except try to live with it. As it turns out, even with the favorites threads, I tried over and over to copy them and the system timed out because of the size (some things never change). (and by the way 'favorites' means those with hundreds or thousands of views and/or replies and not a few individual's personal favorites). Then I started trying to pare them down just to copy the meat - I could see after about 15 minutes, that this would have taken me many hours - so all we are able to do is link to the favorites back in the old forum. |

I agree with Pat. We will get use to this and maybe even like better, but when you get old like me there is very little good things at home change.

The new forum will take some getting used to, but I guess that we will manage somehow.

Is it gone? I don't think so. The old forum is still there. We'll just need to look for it if we need something.

I actually like the new forum. Yeah it's different, but change isn't always bad. And the old database is still there if we need to look up something. I know it's a pain for some, but you'll have this.

My 2 cents.... I do actually like the new forum, in fact it is very similar to the PIPS Power Group forum in many ways. The fact that all the old threads are still there to refer to, is a help but obviously not ideal and as many of you have said, we will eventually get used to the change as more new threads are added. My gripe however, is not so much that it has happened, but more "I didn't know it was going to happen"! I really feel that had we been notified by email, or even a sticky thread, we could have prepared ourselves for the event. As it is, I fear we may have lost some valuable members who find change hard to cope with. I hope this is not the case and look forward to the days when the forum is buzzing with activity again. Hi, The new forum is fine and I knew it would be......we should have at least gotten a PM about it..... No big deal...except alot of quality information gone.....sure we can go to it...but new people wont know what to do..... It devalues this forum for awhile until "we build it back up"... Take care Jeff |
