What is the purpose of this forum?
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

This quote is from the list of threads on the main page of the Warrior Forum describing what this forum is about:

"This forum is for Plug-In Profit Site members. Get in here and start asking questions, helping others and networking to grow your business. We're family here. Your success is our success."

Is this really true anymore? I am asking myself that question right now...

Take care

Yes I think it definitely is. Although it has been really quiet lately for some odd reason I see lots of people reading posts that don't post comments unfortunately.

I have never before been allowed to play with 'the big kids' - - the other moderators (now called 'super moderators') and you would be very surprised how lenient we have been -

I really thank Allen that he does not protest my Free Advertising Zone.

I am also really happy that they removed the ridiculous 'infraction' rating system - where people could report you just because they don't like what you like or vice versa.

However there is still a spam 'velocity' I think it is called and I assume people will be N/A'd for spam if it is a serial spammer - that is a good thing.

Another real improvement - I did report a signature violation - not for a PIPSter but someone else who posted here - I was shocked that they just flat out deleted the signature - oops. I was expecting maybe a smaller font or they would send warnings like I do.

I will always try to work with the group privately whenever possible without calling attention to us...

If you have to ask... well you know...

I see a few new people asking questions everyday and the number of people who reply to those questions is exciting. It seems there has been a little more thought put into the replies lately. People seem to be working together to form an answer and show the big picture when helping others.

There have been a lot of thank you's and compliments given by those who have asked questions. They do that because they are getting help and they are being reassured they can get help when they need it.

I think it was Patrician who said "if you have been in PIPs one day longer than another person you can help them" (paraphrased). You see that here all the time. It doesn't matter if you have a weeks experience or 10 years people are replying with what they know and have learned. You don't have to be the Number one Internet Marketer to help another person. All you have to do is know the right answer.

I take a lot of pride in helping people here and in other forums and I know others do also. The answer to the question of this forum being what it once was is NO, it's better than it was and it's getting better all the time.

I am also enjoying my growing list of friends. People I have not seen before saying hi.

Find out how this guy went from being over $40,000 in debt to having total financial freedom and how you can to.Click Here: Freedom ~

I think this forum is always helpful. Even though sometimes I don't post on a thread, I read it and a light bulb goes off as I have learnt something I didn't realise I even needed to know! I think it's been very quite since we started this new version, there are a few people I haven't even seen post anything in here, which is a shame. Hopefully it will get back to how it was, as it was and is great for me to learn from the best.

I think that one of the main purpose for this forum is what Jeff said..."Family" at lease this is how I view it. Just like your body! When I am eating something good, my whole body feels good. When someone makes a sell or get ranked high in google I feel good too. Sometime I feel a little down, but somebody always say something that picks me right back up the way a family member does. But to be in a forum with unselfish people is the greatest. Can't stay in here all day because there is a lot of other work to be done.

Hi Jeff,

Even though I've not been on the Warrior Forums all that much, I can say that it's one of the best places that I've ever been on. And this place is indeed a family, of sorts. The great thing is that there's always something to learn and discover in the Warrior Forum!

UPDATING YOUR WEBSITE

After we build you a website, which is fully functional for the purposes of internet marketing, we do not do any custom design. However, you are free to change your website in anyway that you desire - change the look, add links, banners, content or pages.

===========================================

Here are some resources.

Have it done:

http://www.pipsitehelp.com/help.php

http://www.pluginprofitsite.com/websiteupdateservices

===========================================

Do it yourself:

http://www.pipsitehelp.com/pipvids.php

* If you are updating an affiliate ID, you first of all need to update your PIPS account profile http://www.pluginprofitsite.com/account and this updates the sales page. (don't forget to save it. Replace the wrong number with yours.

(Note if your site was created after 4/30/2008, updating an affiliate ID in your PIPS account profile will automatically update your website so that is all you need to do)
--------------------------------

* If you need to update your website:

Log in to your Host4Profit webpanel with your hosting account username and password.

http://www.YOUR-DOMAIN.com/menu/ (REPLACE "YOUR-DOMAIN" with your PIPS domain name)
===========================================

FIRST MAKE A BACK UP COPY of index.html (index.html is the website)

* From the main directory go to File Manager Open the index.html file with the edit icon.

(it is to the right of the file name and looks like a pencil)

When the file is open and without doing anything to the code, go to the bottom of the page and in the box that says 'save file name'

- type index.bak

now you have two copies of index.html - index.html and index.bak

- you may want to do your changes in index.bak to protect your website

- if you do it this way then, after you test your changes to index.bak, (display the file with big blue 'e' icon to the right of each file name) test the link you added or change you made and also look at everything above and below it to make sure it is still working - click the links, etc to be sure it is okay.

--- if it is okay, then rename index.html to "index1.html" (this is the version with no change) (with the little icon that looks like this "Iab")

--- then rename index.bak to index.html (this is the new version which is now the displayed website)

--- if you changes are not okay, either delete index.bak and start over from making a back up copy of index.html, (a new index.bak) or keep trying on the index.bak until it works right.
===========================================

To UPDATE OR CORRECT AFFILIATE IDs or ADD LINKS OR BANNERS

*Note members who joined on or AFTER May 1, 2008, no longer need to update affiliate IDs on the site. By updating your PIPS account profile, this automatically fixes the sales page AND the site.

From the main directory go to File Manager Open the index.html file with the edit icon.

(it is to the right of the file name and looks like a pencil)

When the file is open click on a BLANK spot at the very top with your mouse.

Hold down the control key with one hand and click F with the other hand (Find)

Now in the box that pops up, put in the wrong number you are seeing.* Click Find and when it finds the number, replace it with your number.

Repeat this until it says 'none found' or 'end of page'

Save the file.

Refresh your browser and view the page

* If you did not include the ID on your application it may be a zero which we added when we set up the site. In this case it would be difficult to find a zero. So instead search for whatever the company domain name is that would be in the link, for example successuniversity.com or empowerism.com, trafficswarm.com, sfimg.com (SFI), marketingtips.com (IMC).

If it is a program or product other than the core programs, then the way to see the URL in the link is to hover over the graphic or link with your mouse (hover means put the mouse/cursor over it but do not click).

With the mouse over the link look down at the lower left-hand corner of your browser status bar (where the 'start' button is) and you will see the URL.
===========================================

NOTE: BE VERY CAREFUL NOT TO DELETE ANY BRACKETS, DITTO MARKS, OR ANYTHING EXCEPT THE NUMBER.

IF YOU DO SO ACCIDENTALLY, THEN JUST HIT YOUR BACK ARROW ON YOUR BROWSER AND GET OUT OF THE FILE WITHOUT SAVING IT. THEN START OVER.
===========================================

To ADD LINKS OR BANNERS -

You will need to learn one of two things. Either basic HTML so you will know where to paste the banner or link without ruining your webpage, or to use a site editor like FrontPage or NVU.

Here is a video done by one of our members about using NVU: How To Edit A Webpage With Nvu | Work At Home Business Blog

SEE BELOW
===========================================

If you have the basic PIPS site, I can always restore the file for you if you mess it up. However, keep in mind I CANNOT restore any custom work you have done and you will need to be sure to back up the file so you don't end up paying someone to restore your custom work.

If you have a basic PIPS site and need it restored, contact the helpdesk and give me your domain name, PIPS ID, hosting username and password.

Hi Jeff and all Pipsters,

This forum is very informative and very helpful! I gain most of my informatioin from others like me who are willing to share and from the research updates posted here.
I get a lot from this forum and have, in fact, met new friends who are very nice!
And emotionally it's been quite a boost.
I hope to expand my horizons really soon with the help of all the wonderful people here.

I have learned so much in a very short time on this forum and I am very thankful to you all !!!

I like to give back what this forum has given me. I still come in just to see if there's anything I can do with my limited knowledge to help others.

The PIPS Forum is where I started and learned 50-60% of what I know now. I'm still a newbie even with 3 years under my belt.

I like reading the posts, even though I may not respond because sometimes the questions that are asked, I haven't a how to answer them, so I keep reading for a few days to find the answer.

Sometimes I wonder why someone seems to post the same exact question in five or six different ways, but, believe it or not, they get 5 or 6 different answers.

PIPS Forum is a good forum, and I am glad it's here. It's like home to me because as I stated earlier, HERE is where my online career began.

Hello, Jeff and All:

I haven't contributed a lot to the PIPS/Warrior Forum lately due to offline writing responsibilities, but I do check in here daily and have a quick look through the posts.

I am impressed with the help many PIPS members are offering to other members and the comraderie is often evident.

I haven't been a member here nearly as long as you have, Jeff. Obviously, you have a much broader perspective of the value and effectiveness of this forum, past and present.

So, the fact you made the comment and asked the question must mean something - what's on your mind, Jeff?

Hi Jeff,

First let me say wow things around here have sure changed. I had not realized that the last time that I came in for a visit was back on 7/2 so I had to redo my password and all, big changes.

Anyway since I joined this forum back in Jan.06 I have seen many people come and go and yet there is always been those that have stuck around to support and help each other so in my opinion it's kinda like a foster family, some members may change from time to time but the love and support is always there just as if we were all blood family and even the occational war of words breaks out but it always seems to find it's way back to peace.

Just my Thoughts for what they are worth!

Regards,
Roy

Hey Jeff,

Here's your chance. Like I said in my other post things here have really changed and I found out some of those changes messed things up. Well I figured out how to fix my sig file and I uploaded a picture which shows in my profile but does not show in my posts. Why?

Regards,
Roy

WOW! I must be learning this stuff I figured it out by myself, thanks anyway!

One pic is the avatar - this is new
One pic is the profile pic we always had

They are two separate settings to have both. I did the same thing and expected to see it on my posts (avatar) just because I added it to my profile.

Then I found the setting for the avatar...:rolleyes:

Hey Stephen,

I know that I have not been here for awhile and I was surprised myself as to just how long it has been.

My blog has been kinda ignored for about as long since I have been doing things in social networking to build some backlinks to improve my ranking with Google for my new sites and happy to report that my main site royjkeller.com is now a page rank three and that the traffic has doubled. If you are interested in the S.N. site that has helped me so much you can find my link at the Empowerism forum under any post I made to my case study(#1) about my site lately or anywhere I have posted there in the past few days since there we can put affiliate links in our sig file unlike here. My network is busting loose and the traffic is awesome.

I have seen you all over TrafficSwarm as of late and your site and blog look great!

Regards,
Roy
