Chameleon update
Share on:

Hi everyone,

I've just received a Chameleon up-date notice, however, when I went to up-date the theme I received this error notice,

"An error occurred while updating Chameleon: Update package not available.."

Is anyone else having this problem? If so what did you do?

Thanks
Paul

HI Paul

Just ignore the Chameleon upgrade.

This particular one has nothing critical/necessary. If Stone decides we should upgrade then he will let people know.

Just be sure you upgrade Wordpress whenever you see the message that one is available.

Okay thanks Patricia

I have another question, I'm using the "Up-Draft" plugin for my blog back-ups. The only problem is I get this warning: Backup directory specified is accessible via the web. This is a potential security problem. Enable .htaccess support to allow Updraft to automatically deny web access.

I'm not very technical around the wordpress platform, does anyone know how to enable .htaccess, or is there a better back-up plugin I can use?

HI Paul - as you can imagine since there are hundreds of plug-ins people may not be familiar with them all.

In general I would NOT use the plugin - I would not only deactivate it, I would delete it.

I would not mess around with .htaccess as it can completely disable your site - not to mention a security issue - I would just absolutely pass on that.

Patricia, may I ask you what you do to back up your word press site? Is there a good plug-in for this? Thanks

Paul
