Press Releases

Hi, Everyone

I've done everything in the 30 days to sucess book, with good results, I might add.

The only thing I have not done is a Press Release.

"What are the forums opinion?"

"Is it worth the money?"

I guess I need a little coaxing.

Tell me your story.

Thx,
Dan

Press releases are great. If you have the money, I would say spend the money. However, do your research.

I highly recommend you check out Dana Willhoit's press release site where she provides her list of sites and recommendations... http://www.thepressreleasesite.com/l...ase-sites.html

That's the best advice I can give you. I just started going through the list. All the free options, anyway. Free isn't bad, but if you can afford PRWeb.com's prices, go for it.

Hope that helps,

Alan

Hi Dan,

Let me know if you get a chance to check out that site and how you make out with using press releases. I'm sure others would like to know as well.

Thanks!

Hey, Alan

When I first joined PIPS about 4 years ago, it was links and articles.
I did all that and had a page rank of 3 in over a month.
Now it is harder, but can still be done.

I operate SouthEastCamper.com, which is a hobby, and the hits are out of this world.
Also with CampeBook.com, I sell about 2 cookbooks or so a day for under two bucks, which still amazes me. LOL! Thats been work in progess, but a hobby too.

So I feel that PIPS should be equally obtainable. I'm going to drive forward and keep the pedal down. You only get out of it what you put into it.

I spent the weekend writing and over the next week I'm going to fine tune it. Then I guess I'll take the plunge and hit the super highway. Noboby has chimed in on the "Press Release" saying anything, so I guess we're one of the few.

I've learned alot from this group, which is why I do some of the silly other things mentioned above.

For all the ney-sayers out there, Stone is on the money, no pun intended.

I enjoy being part of the PIPS family and let's move forward.

I'll shut up now, One beverage to many.

Thx,
Dan

I don't know where everyone else is, but I'm sure others have an opinion about using Press Releases.

I agree with you that marketing is a little more difficult than it was four years ago, but that shouldn't be too difficult for you now since you have a bit of experience. Just keep plowing forward and you'll see results.

If nothing else, Press Releases are good for getting backlinks. Some of the sites I'm working with allow you to submit articles as well.

Anywhere you can get a back link to your site is worthwhile, Press Releases can be pretty expensive, PRWeb.com which is the most popular starts from $80. WebWire.com is $18 per submission and works quite well if you want a more affordable but still effective service.

Th effectiveness of your release comes down to the quality of the release and there is a bit of an art to writing effective press releases.

Your aim should be to distribute as much content as you can wherever you can linking back to your site with keyword optimised links. Also social bookmark as much of that content as possible at as many different social bookmarking sites as possible.

All the best,
Mike.

There's a long list on Dana's site that I posted that are all free. They allow keyword optimized links, so yes, very beneficial for backlinks if nothing else. I agree you also need a well written release if you want maximum exposure.

I currently have three different press releases I'm starting to submit to these sites. Some also accept articles as well, so there's another backlink.
