Hi Gang,

I have "Bloggers Block." Also work commitments and family issues are impacting my output.
Is it possible to use other quality blog articles from other bloggers (with their permission of course.)?

Now I know duplicate content has to be considered here but if it is an article that hasn't been spread around too many websites, then will it still adversly impact on my Google search results?

Hi Dave,

I can recommend uberarticles.com for you. They supply unique versions of articles that people can use as they wish, so it would be a straight copy and paste into your blog.

There are thousands of unique articles on the site covering many different topics (they have been 'spun' from articles that people have submitted to the article submission service that I subscribe to).

If you're interested in getting more backlinks you can even grab one of their articles, re-word it a bit and then submit it as your own.

The article submission service will then send unique 'spun' versions to hundreds of article directories for you.

Because each article submitted is 'unique' I find that for every 1 article that I submit I easily get 100+ backlinks to my domain. Bonus!

I second UAW (Unique Article Wizard Unique Article Wizard - Submit Unique Content to Hundreds of Websites) I have configured it to run with WP-PIPS 2.0, you can see an example here Article Directory | WP-PIPS 2.0 those articles have been automatically submitted. Essentially they are actually blog posts as the site is built with Wordpress but I have used an article directory plug-in to make it appear more like an article directory.

I believe both Article Marketer and iSnare have similar plug-ins however they do not provide unique content like UAW does.

The key is to only post good quality articles, don't just submit any article as filling up your blog with worthless content won't benefit you at all. You can go to Ezine Articles and subscribe to some RSS feeds or you can subscribe via email to some quality writers and post their articles on your blog. Or write your own version of the article.

Or if you want to write your own content but have "bloggers block" there shouldn't really be such a thing in this day and age. There is so much content on the web that there should be endless amounts of topics you can blog about. Go to the social bookmarking sites and see what content is getting the most votes, subscribe to some top blogs, go to YouTube and see what videos are getting a lot of views and add that to your blog with some of your own comments. Go to Twitter and see what people are "tweeting" about.

Whatever you do you can't avoid putting in time and effort as it's the time and effort you put into what you do which distinguishes you from the rest.

You can join the Co-op, they can handle that for you, I have very limited time to sit down and write an article for my blog, but the Co-op sends my blog (2) articles a week, just a suggestion.

I would just be real careful using too much duplicate content. Google won't necessarily penalize you but your website will not look to good to them and they will rank you in their search engine accordingly.

The best way to get results is to use 100% fresh content. I don't know too much about the respun content but if it sounds too good to be true...

If you have money, you could outsource the writing work or at least wait until you do have time to write. Honestly though you dont have to post more than two articles a week to your site as long as you are keeping busy getting plenty of back links off site.

If you post a quality article which you have obtained from an article directory which generates back links to your site that can only be a good thing. I think regardless of whether your content is unique or not Google is going to rank your pages based on your back links. The best way to create back links is to add content which has value which other sites may link to (link bait).

Unfortunately a lot of people just submit poor quality articles to article directories simply for the back links therefore you do have to spend a bit of time finding decent ones.

UAW does not use synonym replacement, it uses a much simpler technique which perhaps doesn't create articles as unique but ensures they do not lose their quality at all. It's also not just a matter of submitting a traditional 500 word article and pressing go. There is a fair amount of work you have to do before submitting the article. I believe it is well worth the effort though.

Back links are what drive your website up the rankings more than anything so if you find content that can do that, wonderful.

I have a question though cause Im not sure how this works...

Lets say for example that website A posts an awesome article that he/she wrote that has the potential to be a great link bait post, just that the person recently started their website and doesn't have the readership for this post to get out on word of mouth just yet.

Now a week or two goes by and Website B somehow runs into this post and copies it and puts it onto their website, with a link back to Website A of course. Website B is a well established website that has a huge readership base and now this great post has massive exposure due to website B and this post generates a good amount links back to the post where they found it, on website B...

And so this is a real question in which I don't know the answer but maybe you do...Which post or website will rank higher in the search engines? Website A the originator or Website B, the website with all the links pointed back at it?

There is a theory, and as far I know just a theory because I don't think it has been proven (like a lot of things regarding SEO) that Google give the originator of the content i.e. the site where it was first indexed some sort of advantage. You should ensure that you notify Google as soon as new content is added to your site by pinging, social bookmarking and using an XML feed submitted to Google webmaster tools.

However I think it is safe to say that regardless of what site the article ends up on the page that has the best on page optimization along with the highest PageRank will out rank the others the majority of the time.

Often you will find that the places you submit your articles to will outrank your own which is why it is good to have two different versions, one for your site and one to distribute, therefore you are not competing with your own content.

Even if your article is being outranked as long as it is generating back links then the link juice is being passed on to other pages on your site.

You have gotten some great advice here. There is so much content out there that you can just pick out a well written article and rewrite it...

What I try to do is make it part of my daily routine to rewrite one of my articles.....

Pick something your passionate about and it becomes easier to write about...

I have several "fun" blogs and a few Squidoo articles. I cannot possibly get each one updated every day, so I try to work on one a day, and sometimes something will pop in for another one.

But if I overwhelm myself, none get done.

I sometimes use others content, with permission and they get the credit - example on my Cat Lady Publishing I use videos from youtube and if I find a cute cartoon, I put it up.

Hopefully when folks see these, they will click to my other sites!

Thanks for posting about uberarticles.com. There is a lot of value in having true unique content spread across the web, and gaining backlinks from that is a huge plus. If i could afford the membership for UAW, I'd jump on board.

I did not have any luck with them what so ever. I tried signing up twice but was told i was missing my phone number despite it not being asked for on the original form. After adding it and resubmitting i'm told my e-mail & username are already in use. I try to confim with the link i was sent by email to only be informed that the account does not exist.

They have an affiliate system built in which utilizes the Uber Articles directory which is quite unique, excuse the pun.

Also, there is no guarantee that each article will be unique, each will come out different to some degree however what percentage will actually be treated as unique by the search engines is debatable. I just thought that people should know that in case they are expecting each article to be unique in the eyes of the SE's. If Noel could guarantee that then I am sure he would be charging a lot more.

However I still think it is going to be more effective than traditional distribution services and you should find more of your articles are indexed therefore more back links etc.

Right now I would just use the the article directory to submit my articles to. Later, once I can afford UAW, I'll go through them.

Very true... the percentage of which it changes is key, and who really knows what the SE's are looking for. I agree, though, that any change is better than no change at all and provides the chance for more backlinks.

Back to the original OP, I wrote a blog post a while back about free software that gathers content from the web on any subject you're looking for. You can then use this content to create your own.
