I had an account on this forum where I'd creep around but never post, but I couldn't make a post because it wasn't activated lol. So I've created this one to ask this. Personally, I'm not too sure if I'm on the right website, because I'm not using the website that I have for marketing per se. The site that I've made is a sports blog, so there's no real product I'm trying to sell. Personally, all I'm trying to do is get my views across, and it'd be a bonus to make a couple of dollars from ads eventually (I don't expect to be making thousands of dollars, but just having any sort of income would be nice to see, albeit not important at all). What I'm wondering is how I can get views to my posts and site. I've been reading on the web but the information, in the unorganized manor that I've been reading it, has been a little overwhelming..I have no idea where to start! Plus, I feel a lot of it is related to sites that hope to make money/have a product to sell where as I don't. So this is my question: Does anyone have advice on how to get a sports soccer site views/how to build an audience? If it's of any help, this is my site: Manchester United Fixtures, Man Utd Transfers and Analysis Thanks in advance. |

Have you done any press releases announcing the launch of your blog? I would do that right away! Press releases are very powerful, and because they're not blog posts or articles, you actually write it up in the third person, as though you are someone else interviewing you. You can also get someone on fiverr.com to write a press release for you announcing the launch of your blog. In the press release, explain the reason for the blog and its mission and whether you accept guest posts to your blog as well. YouTube is another really great place to discuss your blog. A lot of people actually just sit in front of their videocams and literally discuss the blog post they just put up. So instead of having a really, really long blog post, the post is more or less a summary while you discuss the article in more detail in a video. Invite questions, answers and comments on your YouTube channel as well as putting a link inside of every video description back to your blog. That will help drive traffic too. And doing videos will bring a certain personal effect to your blog, show you're a real person with real views and opinions. Search for other related blogs and offer to do a guest blog in exchange for a link back to your blog. And invite other blog owners to post on your blog. So you're creating a little network of bloggers in the same industry. I think if you create a "Vlog" on YouTube that corresponds to your blog, and do that regularly, your blog will start getting some nice traffic. And if you use press releases to (1) announce your blog; (2) announce your new YouTube channel; (3) announce guest posts on your blog; (4) announce your guest posts on other blogs, you'll be in really good shape rather quickly. I hope this helps!! Oh, and one more thing, I don't know how to set it up, but you can do video interviews with "personalities" and "celebs" and post them on both your blog and YouTube. That would be really cool! Have fun! |

Just trying to help and do not mean to sound condescending. First, you have what webmasters and marketers call a "Thin Site" meaning the site as whole is too thin in terms of content for visitors, search engines and ROI. After creating hundreds of similar sites myself I can tell you without a doubt that there is nothing on your site that I couldn't find at the top ten sites. You will never be able to compete with the top ten if you continue as your are now. The top ten sports sites have something running in the background that we (visitors) never see, but benefit from in terms of qualified content.
