Welcome to the WF Well, that's a loaded gun. Traffic selling sites do not always send you "targeted traffic". As you know instruments, I'll use this analogy. If I want to by a Steve Vai signature Series 7 String electric, in Lime green with Pink Pickups, I know they make them, I know I can go buy them online, or have a dealer who handles Ibanez guitars order it for me, or check ebay. This makes me a very targeted buyer of guitars. I know what I want, and how to get it. If my girlfriend knows I want a "guitar" for Christmas, she is not a targeted buyer. She does not know where to look, who to ask, or even what kind of guitar it is. So, how this works. When I go to the store, I ask the right questions, make my order, and go off happy. The GF goes crazy trying to figure out what I wanted, does not get the right thing, and I have to pretend to be happy. This is the basics to marketing in a nutshell. You market to your target audience. Your target audience is people who know about instruments. These people are likely to hang out at the same places you are, Local bars that still have live bands, posters on walls in clubs, anywhere a musician lands. While you may get traffic by placing an add in your local paper, which has a greater change for hitting "your market audience"? Heck if you have to, sponser a local event and plaster your website name on local musician guitars, or let them use yours for free publicity. Marketing is only as hard as you make it, and truly the sky is the limit. If you have been in a band before, remember the struggling at the beginning. You told everyone, your family, friends, friends kids, whatever. That is "word of mouth" marketing. Visit the places bands visit. Post on band forums, band blogs, band sites, etc, etc.. Hope this helps. |

Hello and Welcome, There's plenty of tips here and in the main section of the forum on generating traffic to your site. Instant traffic sites never work... too bad you learned the hard way. That's how many of us learned about what works and what doesn't. It's always better to learn from someone elses experiences. To start generating business, your site needs traffic. Write articles, start a blog and join a community (such as this one) focused on music or musical instruments. Create your own unique brand and make you and your site stand out from the rest. Asking questions in here is a good start. There's plenty of information you can read up on in here. Learn and apply what you learn to your business. I wish you the best of success, Alan |

Hi and Welcome to the warrior forum. I specialise in selling physical goods on the Internet and it is a diffrent world to the majority of IM marketers here. having said that there is a huge amount to be learned here. Selling physical products only works with targeted traffic to your web site which must be user freindly and provide a simple platform for intersted customers to make a purchase. So to make it work you need to focus on getting potentila musical Instrument buyers to visit your web site. I use a number of methods including Google Adwords which can bring highly targeted traffic and can be very cost effective. One of my sites runs very well alsmost entirely on Adwords and has an advertising cost of sale of less than 9%. You need to think how to get these people on to your site by advertising. You need to then look at how you can get on to page 1 of google for the key search terms that are relevant to your products. There is a lot to learn but even though it will take some time If you stick at it the rewards are ther at the end. BUT WARNING its ot an instant get rich quick scheme You need to be completely focused on building your On line Brand so it becomes known in the musical insrument world Good Luck |

Marketing can definitely be one of the more challenging aspects of business. It is no longer true that if you build a better mousetrap, the world will beat a path to your door. Nowadays, you have to work hard at spreading the word. WF members have already given you good advice and some areas to focus on. I agree with word of mouth, social networking, niche forums, blogging, article marketing, your own niche website with new niche-focused content being added regularly. These are simply the basics. As you become experienced with the above, you will learn to branch out into more advanced techniques of marketing. Alan mentioned learning from others and that is definitely the best way. Ask questions, learn what you can, apply what you learn. GT | |

Stay on this site abit longer, learn from people here. I think your best bet will be Google adwords. There are several ways but this will be your best bet, you can also use ebay as well, you can place a classified ad on there

Hey Musicians Wanted!!! About your Store and traffic. I think the traffic exchanges are not all they are cooked up to be. you may try writing some articles on your business with an angle on your store, something unique that makes you stand out. The key is adding your link back to your store. Do you have a blog or ezine for your visitors? How do you capture visitors emails? When you made your signature, put a link to your store in all your forums. Talk soon, Chase |
