question about 30 days training
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

Hello

I hope someone can help with this. I set up a blog as per 30 day training but kept it hosted with blogspot.com which i was quite happy with, however the other day in my infinite wisdom decided to follow day 10's advice of the 30 day training and intergrate blog to my website, this all worked fine other than me losing some blogger gadgets I had quite gotten used to on my site.

My problem lies in day 11 of the 30 day guide with intergrating your blog to look like your website. Stone says to go into template in new window and copy all html code, then go back to template page erase code and repaste my copied code in the now blank space.

I did this and to no ones surprise it looks exactly the same as he asked us to copy the code from template and then repaste into template the same code.

I would like my blog to look my website as stone says it will but obviously i am doing something wrong. Any help here would be great as a far as i can tell i have read it right and fulfilled the right steps but nothing happened.

Looking forward to any answers anyone can come up with.

Thank you

PG

PG, I would love to, it I could tell you to right click x
then drag y and then paste z....

Sorry, that's not my specialty!

But, it is Darrin McLaughlin's he did mine and
he is awesome. Just let him know in detail if what
your problem is and what gadgets you want and I'm
sure he'll get you taken care of.

Lots of people are having trouble following the instructions.

When done correctly it works correctly. I know it sounds mean but the only thing I can advise is to start over from scratch. Re-do each step even if you are sure you did it right. Just reading each thing carefully you may see something that you missed or even maybe originally did not interpret it correctly.

I would also clear my cache before I tried again as there is always the chance it did change but you are not seeing the most recent version.
-------------------

Clear your Cache

You may need to clear your cache and then try again.

In Internet Explorer from the Tools Menu:

* Internet Options/General/Browsing History
-- Delete
-- Cookies/Temporary Files/History
-----------------------

In FireFox, Tools Menu:

*Advanced - Network Tab
- Cache - Click ‘Clear Now’ button

* Privacy - Private Data
- Click ‘Clear Now’ button

* Privacy - Cookies
- Show Cookies
-- Click ‘Clear Now’ button

=============

* Reboot your computer.

------------------------------------------------------

If you want you can also clean up your hard drive:

Go to CCleaner - Home and download the free registry cleaner tool. Run this tool if nothing above helps and then reboot your computer.

You should also run this at least every few weeks to a month depending on how active you are on your computer/internet.

Hi guys,

I just read through day 11 and yes it is confusing. What he wants you to do is open the link where it says "this page" That link will bring you to a page where you have to copy the text from that page and then paste it into your blog template.

Make sense?

Best,
Matt

PG

After looking at it again, the link that I provided has my personal template info so definitely don't use it.

If I am reading this correctly, where it says "Now open this page in a separate browser window. This will pull up a page of text code that looks something like this:"

You need to click on "THIS PAGE" and it will bring up a template that is different than the one currently used on your blog. Then all you have to do is copy and paste over the old template.

Hi Matt

I realized it had you affiliate id, but after seeing that I went back to day 11 and opened up blogspot.html with my own code and yay it works.

Thanks so much.

I had difficulty doing that as well. And, restarted about 3 times before I finally got it right.
