I am noticing that people are subscribing to my newsletter to get my free report, but having got the report are not confirming opt in!
Is there a way to ensure the double opt in before sending them to the download page? I would say I am losing around 20% of subscriptions because of the double opt in. ![]() Graham |

You can give them the link on the 1st instant message in the auto responder.

The way it is supposed to work is they get pluginthanks.html and then after they confirm they get pluginbonus.html
Maybe add your report to the first newsletter instead of the confirmation email or whatever you are doing with the report. |

Yeah, I would make sure they confirm before they ever get any downloads. The way I have it setup is to bring them to a confirmation page that shows them a screenshot of what the email will look like and stating that they need to click on the confirmation link in the email. This usually boosts your opt-in rate. See an example here: Thank you for subscribing to our newsletter....
Then, at the bottom of the first email I provide a link to the subscriber only download page that is also password protected. This ensures that only subscribers can access the page, unless of course they give it to all their friends. On the download page I provide every download ever advertised for subscribers, even if I have a splash page for just one ebook. I then just keep adding to the page more downloads as I get them. To me this is so much easier and less time consuming. |
