Although we had removed this from our core several months ago, I still had it on 3 of my sites. I noticed that the banners were not working at one point and finally removed them when I couldn't fix the problem. Note that as of end of last week, their site was still operating, but even when I changed to another banner, it would not display and hung my page loads on all 3 sites. Well - worse now, I had some pages done by Suzanne that promoted various LAB niche audio books - when I clicked those links I got a warning from McAfee Site Advisor that the links are dangerous/infected with something or other. Tried them again over a few days with the same result - so now I removed the whole kit and kaboodle. I know based on Marige's last newsletter, I read that Rod (the surviving partner) disappeared somewhere for several months, after a family emergency in South Africa someplace - and she had no access to things like paying commissions, etc. This was a few months ago... So I really assumed they were out of business - however, then when I saw the site was still running last week, I figured he must have been located and all was well. Anyway life is too short for all this - so I am done - and just wanted to warn you guys that still feature LAB on your sites that you maybe should consider removing it until further notice... ... or is it just me? |

I quit promoting them a long time ago myself. Too bad really because they had a good product and I made some good money with it when it first launched. It seemed to be a good targeted niche!

Hi, everyone: Here is one more word of caution regarding Leisure Audio Books. If you signed up with the Automatic Renewal option, you had better make sure you have cancelled it! Last year, about the time all the problems with LAB started going public, LAB STILL charged me the automatic renewal. I have no doubt that they will be happy to keep collecting auto renewals from affiliates as long as they can, with or without an active program. GT |

Thanks Pat, I also noticed their banner was not working, so I removed it last week. Thankfully, I did not upgrade anyway. Cheers, Charles |

Hello, again: Just a note about how to cancel your Leisure Audio Books subscription if you subscribed via PayPal: - Log in to your PayPal account - Click the "History" tab on your "My Account" page - Change the "From" date to sometime before you first subscribed to LAB - The "To" date can be any date after the "From" date - I just left it as the current date - Click the "Search" tab This should bring up the history of all subscriptions you have authorized through PayPal. Check to see if LAB is there and whether or not it is still active. If it is active, click the "Details" link, then find the "Cancel Subscription" button and click it. That should do it. GT |

Hi, I also removed it from my site a long time ago, but I often notice that people still have LAB banners and the LAB feature article on their site when I am doing site updates. Cheers Suzanne |

Oh LAB... If you forget to UNSUBSCRIBE in Paypal and then ask for your subscription back you get a "nice" response Marige which is a combination of "woe is me" and "you are one of those want-something-for-nothing jackasses for daring to request your money back and I ain't going to give it to you even if I could, which I can't, so there." Or words to that effect. |
