Hi Pipsters,

There are many people trying to make money online and the Plug-In Profit
Site (PIPS) is one of the many, MANY available options on the internet.
Now, the point of this thread is not to teach you how to succeed with
PIPS (there's the PIPS Power Group for that) but how to succeed on any
online business generally.

I'm going to reveal some of the biggest and most common mistakes people
make which leads to failure (and why you should avoid it at all costs!) and
hopefully, together with how to avoid the mistake, how to succeed.

1. Choosing The Right Playing Field

An absolute killer mistake most people make is to get into a field where
they have very low to no chance of survival.

Or... they choose a playing field where there's only 3 people playing -- Joe
(himself), Johnson (his family name) and Billy (the ball).

Let's look at the first example - going into a field with very low to no
chance of survival. I'm going to use the example of playing an online first-
person shooting game like "Medal of Honor" (I don't play it, just an
example)

Everybody starts at the same place but if you've started late, you're going
to lose out to those who have started early because they know the right
ammo, they know where to hide and wait out, they know the shortcuts,
they know the map, et cetera.

And if you play against these people, you're going to be absolutely
SLAUGHTERED. No mercy.

Likewise, online business is no different. They know the shortcuts and
they've got the leverage, for a person starting out and trying to rank
number 1 for the keyword "make money from home" is really asking to be
wasted.

However, the difference in online business versus an online game is that
there's always a loophole or gap to fill.

Always.

So, you have to find a place where you can win. Where you can get onto
easily and dominate.

For example, making money online for people with disabilities. That is a
very underserved market with people who are no different mentally and
have only a physical limitation. Instead of trying to dominate a field where
everyone is there, why not dominate that field? Or making money online for
youths? For pastors? For retirees? There's way too many options.

Win in that area first.

Don't think it's possible to make money there? ... have you tried?

Which leads me to the next point of being on a playing field where there's
nobody.

Allow me to reveal a very humbling mistake.

I rank on Google for a certain keyword term with 43 million search results
without quotes and about 800,000 with quotes. I thought "Alright! I'm on
page 1 of Google!"

But lo and behold, the only people online who were searching for that
keyword was Me, Myself and Asher. You see -- I was ranking for a search
term NOBODY was searching for and playing for.

So, if you're on page 1 for a search term, don't get too happy... because
you're the only one playing there and if you're alone, with no one coming
to look for you... you're not going to be making any kind of money there.

(Note: The recommendation in the video is meant for someone whose
starting out and is on a tight budget. I didn't mention that in the video.)

2. Selling Is Selling

Here's another common mistake - people don't know how to sell. You see,
selling is THE MOST important skill you need to have in order to be able to
make money online (or offline).

Why do people buy? Why did you buy into the PIPS program? How can you
motivate someone else to make the same decision you did?

Most people who start online say its not possible to make money online but
the truth is they never knew how to sell it - either their business, their
product or themselves.

Selling takes time to learn and I had to learn it myself. Depending on the
person and your characteristic, you may or may not become a salesperson
but you must at least know and understand how to apply the concept of
selling to be successful.

(The best way is to find a coach/mentor in sales and to do your own
research by reading up & studying the topic)

There's way too many things for me to cover but I do hope something in
this thread has been helpful.

So in summary, if you really want to learn how to make money... you need
to get on the right playing field and learn how to sell. That's the 2 basic
but most commonly overlooked prerequisites involved.

Hi Asher;
I've just read this thread and watched your videos and I think that you have done a excellent job with it. The information is good and has given me something to think about and a reason to reevaluate my online business practices.
I have not been in this for very long but for the few months I have I have found that you are right about newbies using the pull method first before they go for the push method.
Unfortunately for me I have had little or no time to do much for my PIPs or other businesses lately due to other circumstances. But I do think that this is some very good information for all of us.

Thanks for the compliments I'm glad the video
and some of what I wrote has been helpful.

Here's a great tip for you... if you have no time,
buy time! Like outsourcing your work, you'll find
a lot of people can do work better than you can.

For example, using articles to generate you more
traffic. You can get others to write for you at good
prices.

And then, you can repurpose that article and turn
it into an audio or video (just like I have) and
incorporate that into your own autoresponder (which
I did).

Just by doing that it increases the value of your
business.

trying to get more people to pump in ideas and make
