Help with basic Wordpress please

Having trouble putting in outward links to my Wordpress blog postings.

I click on link button and enter url in the pop up box and still no live link when published.

Anybody know how to put in live links into postings please?

Thank you,

Ewen

I can help you with this. Feel free to PM if the below advice does not help.

1. Choose the HTML option in the post
2. Copy/paste this code for an outbound link:

<a href="http://www.whateveryouarelinkingto.c*m">Text Goes Here</a>

This should do the trick.

Ewen, Joshni's method certainly works. But if you want to use the visual editor, as you were trying to do originally, the trick is to highlight the text that you want to be clickable before you click the link icon. If there's nothing highlighted when you click the link button, it publishes a link that can't be clicked because there's no text there to click.

Great post! This method is simpler than mine... unless you're a nerd like me and do all your posts in the HTML editor... ;)
